[4-7-17] 32-100 Days of Productivity Currently typing a literary analysis on Raymond Carvers Cathedral. This short story is so good I recommend reading it.
Hey guys! I thought it would be interesting to hear about the books I’ve been using during my first year in medschool.
Biochemistry:
- Biochemistry (4th Edition) by Christopher K. Mathews. I used it if I had a doubt about any of the concepts explained in class.
- Fundamentos de biología Básica (Universitas) by Miguel Cerezo García. This book is by my teacher and it was very interesting as it had theory as well as reasoning questions at the end of each chapter.
-Lehninger. Principles of Biochemistry by David L. Nelson. This is a must if you are studying biochemistry, it is amazingly explained and it also has questions, which in my case was great as I had to write my own question in the exam.
- Textbook of Biochemistry with Clinical Correlations by Thomas M. Devlin. I took this book to my exam, as it had every biochemistry concept connected with pathologies and human metabolism.
Biology:
-Alberts, Molecular Biology of the Cell. A big book, I wouldn’t recommend buying it as it is more of a consult book, check if your library has it and borrow it.
Anatomy:
-Of course... Grey’s Anatomy for students by R.L. Drake. Great book, good explanations and amazing draws. Furthermore it has an app where you can download the ebook and there are assessment questions, so you can take it wherever you want. I am going to London in a few weeks and now I know what I’ll be doing during the flight.
- Netter's Anatomy Coloring Book by John T. Hansen. I would recommend this book as it presents a great way of studying anatomy. Also it is very cheap and you´ll have the ebook as well.
Embriology:
-Langman's Medical Embryologyby T. W. Sadler. It explains embryology week by week, and it has a lot of applied sections for practical medicine.
- The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology by Keith L. Moore. It complements the previous book, with both’s drawings and explanations embryology won't be a problem for you!
Phisiology:
-Human Physiology by Stuart Ira Fox. Also a big book, which is more of a consult book than a book I had to study completely, it has great illustrations and good questions to prove your knowledge.
Histology:
-Histology: A Text and Atlas by Michael H. Ross and Wojciech Pawlina. I used this for my practical exam as it had great images described carefully. Again I would recommend borrowing it from the library.
Genetics:
-Thompson & Thompson Genetics in Medicine by Robert L. Nussbaum. I’ve been using this book as a consult resource for my genetics class. I haven’t bought it, just borrowed it from the library.
I hope you found this useful! And happy Día de la Mujer Trabajadora for all or you!

day 100 // 100 days of productivity (finally!) currently doing some last-minute revision for my history exam tomorrow, hopefully it all goes okay! also, my 'going seventeen' album arrived today, which made me super happy! 🎶listening to: moon - jonghyun
