I'm such a sucker for Percy taking his partners last name

Does hypening make sense? yeah but like Percy deciding to take his partners last name entirely can be so special to me i just think it can be a very sweet gesture and might be good for him im not sure how to explain why i think that but i do

Like There are so many Weasley's and he knows that so he sees no problems taking a rarer last name or one that would like die out in wizarding Britain if he didn't

and internally he still feels like he's not really a weasley in the first place but he'd never admit that

this is doubly true when shipping him with characters that are like the only ones we know with that last name even if we don't know their family situation Oliver, Stan, Penny

and double double true for Other Pureblood characters that would care so much that he'd be willing to do that Like Flint

Like I've been mostly hcing that Dennis is left legit all alone after the war with not only losing his brother but his parents too so that's another scenario where I think it would be a very sweet gesture

Stercy (platonic or romantic)

Literally just me lightly yapping about how violently British they both are. Hooray.

So I’m pretty sure we’re all familiar with two typical British stereotypes.

STAN- Careless, oblivious teenager, winds up in the slammer, possible drinking addiction (?), pimply and flirtatious.

PERCY- Overly careful, prideful, government man, sensible, somewhat prudish (in canon)

Both are tall and lanky. Heavy accents, one cockney and the other “posh”.

I’ve always found it funny how different they are, yet so similar. Like literally:

To sum it all up, Stan is a fish-and-chips Brit and Percy is a tea-and-biscuits Brit.

And identical opposites is always such an interesting dynamic.

Stan is probably the least possessive of the people i heavily enjoy thinking about with Percy

Like Marcus is so possessive and jealous and it only gets more intense if they get together Like he always has it in the back of his mind that Percy could do better and that if he's not careful someone could take him away

Oliver's Obsessive like in general about things that he loves but i do think he try's not to be actively possessive like externally. Even though he doesn't always succeed at keeping his inside thoughts inside (even more so when it's like a continued thing or someone like with Flint)

Dennis is also of the convinced Percy would leave him if given the opportunity variety though doesn't act out to the same degree Marcus does. He's more afraid of like him dying too then he is him falling for someone else though.

Then anytime someone hits on Percy Stan is just like Threesome? yes? no? maybe? I'll follow you w'ere ever you want to go

Like I think in a Polyam situation out of my major ones Stan would just accept it the easiest

i don't know why

but I was thinking about Denperce again and my brain went "what if Percy was already with someone and just came home to tell them about the weird corridor convo who would accept that the easiest "

I keep seeing @ace-aussie-asshole doing something similar with next gen characters

but like with the more popular options for each character im assuming im not very familiar with next-gen shipping

But every time I i see them my brains like

i wanna see what people say on Percy c: sounds fun

but like not the popular ones because Perciver would just zoom past everything else

so I thought it would be neat to do one with some of my Percy ships c: So then I decided to just exclude anything that I like that has more then 100 fics on ao3 because that made sense to me

So these 12 were the ones I came up with

i really like the concept of Percy outright hiding someone in his flat during the war but like it doesn't fit well with most of the people I ship him with

Like the ones i could actually think of that would benefit from it are mostly ones that would be too young to really be having much happen between them during that year

which im not saying the situation can't be just platonic because that is fun too

Like with Oliver it loses out on what makes a forced proximity fic fun to me because of them having already roomed together for years so there's no like weird phase of having to get used to the other being around and having to learn to live with them

similar situation for Penny honestly they've already been together so while i do like the idea of her staying with him its not as fun for a ship set up to me

Marcus doesn't really have a reason to be staying with him, like he could but he's not going to be in a life or death situation if someone sees him so it doesn't have the same like flavor.

Stan is fun i think if you play with him being imperioused and Percy somehow breaking him out of it or something and having him stay with him after that could be fun. Hiding him to keep him from getting imperioused again or worse outright killed

plus then you get to play not only with the fact he was in Azkaban and effects it had on him as well as the trauma of anything that happened while he was under

which is fun

with any Percy ship i have where the other is either the same size or smaller then Percy you can pretty much just assume I've thought about them in Percy's lap more then once

it's the best cuddle position

Draco? yes Dennis? yes Lavender? yes Penny? Roger? Luna? yes yes and yes

Like if in my head Percy can fit his arms around them and still is able to see a desk to work i have thought about them in that type of position Just you know cuddles while he works

Except for Stan even though I do think he could fit in the same way that Penny and Roger would my brain tends to want to put Percy in his lap instead I like the idea of it being the opposite of how it happens for other ships where its used to make Percy relax just making Percy rest by making him stay in one place long enough to just fall asleep or something

At nearly 14k words I have completed Microfic May 2024!

While completely ignoring the whole microfic part um- anyway~

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge and feel like I've improved a lot because of it! even though it's a bit hard to tell since the order the fics went up and the order they were written in is pretty mixed up.
