Dramatic seas at St Ouen’s Bay Yesterday was the warmest March day on record in Jersey with temperatures hitting 22C. It was therefore the perfect evening for our first beach barbecue of the year - I can personally say I’ve never had a barbecue that early in the year before! After eating we took a stroll along the bay, it was buzzing with people eating and chatting and it felt a lot like ‘normal’. The air was warm even after the sun went down but the best bit by far was the thrill that at any moment a wave would come up over the wall and soak you! One of the best things about lockdown being eased is the ability to go out and eat again. I never realised I’d miss it so much. On Sunday we had a birthday breakfast at El Tico, one of my absolute favourite places to eat in the island. It’s a combination of excellent food and awesome views. Their social distancing measures were simple and effective, tables spaced apart outside and food left on a table nearby for you to pick up yourself and take to your table.
