"Well, sometimes I am scared of things," GingerBright begins.

Strawberry frowns, fiddling with the strings of her hoodie. "Not like I am. You're always so... cheerful. Confident and happy. Like GingerBrave! You and GingerBrave are so, um..." She blinks, realizing how stupid she sounds. "So brave."

GingerBright blinks, and for a moment Strawberry's ready to beg forgiveness, but then GingerBright squeals, "Aw, you think so?"

Fervently, Strawberry nods. GingerBright's just so infectiously cheerful, always with a good joke to lighten the mood... and Strawberry's some awkward, cowardly weirdo who'd rather play video games than talk to people. She doesn't deserve such a stunning, beautiful friend.

"You're sweet, Strawbie," GingerBright says with a grin. "But you wanna know why I act so brave and all?"

Strawberry can't help but hold her breath. "Why?"

GingerBright wraps her arms around Strawbie. "Because I have amazing friends who'll always have my back even if they're a little scared while doing so!"

Oh. Now her cheeks are really warm. With a sharp jerk of her hands, Strawberry pulls the strings taut, trying to hide her flushed cheeks.

GingerBright laughs, lilting and lovely, and squeezes Strawbie tighter. Enamored, Strawberry leans into her girlfriend's warm, gentle embrace.
