MY AU:
My AU is the Witch Hunt AU, and it revolves around the BraveTrio getting adopted by White Lily and Pure Vanilla Cookie after being found on the riverside.
The trio grow fond of the two while secretly committing 1st Degree Witch Slaughter on the side; they initially planned to manipulate them into trusting them after realizing their historical significance but get too attached, so it's like a mix of slice of life plus psychological and regular horror aspects.

Here's my reasons on why strawberry cookie deserves to have her own update
Number one:she doesn't immediately go insane,this is mostly to do with the information that the witches eat cookies,now strawberry has witness a witch eat a cookie but she stays good unlike white lily who fumbled so badly that she fell into the batch and became dark enchantress cookie who started two whole world wars which caused the death of many cookies
Number two:she's strong,now this one isn't probably noticeable at first until you take into account,her weapon which is a big lollipop and the way she swings that must indicate that it's heavy so she has to have some muscle on her
Number three:she needs more lore,I know we already have some lore on her if you count the other games but I want more,I want to know how she ended up liking video games,I want to know how she even got that hoodie,like was she baked with it,did she find it somewhere,who knows
Number four:she needs more attention,this one is pretty reasonable and everyone will probably agree with this considering that we have had no filler updates since like what,after the kpop demon hunters collab which is why I believe that we should get a filler update that centers around strawberry

Okay hear me out, so @inkyaltbitts mentioned this in their design breakdown but fae don't really have wings, what if Bright also didn't originally have wings? Fae and fairies are pretty close folklore-wise(dont fact check), right? so maybe Elder Faerie and Gingerbright were also close, found family close, so maybe at one point during her tenure as the Virtue of Conviction, she reached some milestone and Elder Faerie gifted her a pair of wings to make her look more regal or some practical reason, but during her fall, she begins to Doubt herself and her image and does a sugarfly to herself and dumps syrup on her wings, depending on what happens in bban!ep 15, whether the beasts die or not, she could do another sugarfly and shatter the syrup as a start or somewhere in the middle of her redemption arc, cause if the syrup can be a manifestation of her doubt in herself, then her shattering it would reveal the total certainty of someone else's belief in her, do you get me, are you picking up what I'm putting down, I am connecting the dots(I'm not connecting anything)
Super sad for Elder Faerie here, you love your adopted daughter enough to gift her a pair a wings(we can be super angsty and say he made them himself), you watch her fall into doubt and corruption, then you have to lock her up in a tree for a couple of centuries, and constantly tend to that tree where your daughter is trapped, no wonder he's super depressed, he's had to lay like 3 of his kids to rest

We got what could be an oil painting if I tried hard enough of their first meeting where Bright is desperately trying to look cool and majestic and flustering Strawberry by being really into her
An angsty little shot of what could happen to Crepe during the bad end costume story where Strawberry folds and stays with Bright, they get turned into a statue or smtg, depends on what the garden of sweet dreams will be
And more bad end stuff! Drowning in doubt and self-hatred in your gf's lap<3 a lesbian's dream(the lesbian is Gingerbright, Strawberry is miserable, she misses her friends but doesn't think they miss her)

Okay so a little less silly and a little more freaky, my little knowledge of fae coming into play here, but first i have to explain what I think might happen during the Doubt arc
so in fae folklore, there are these rules you have to follow: don't give them your name, don't thank them, don't say sorry, don't eat their food, that stuff, so at the end of the arc, Gingerbright might ask for Strawberry's name and ask her to eat something from her garden
So strawberry basically has like 3 names: Strawberry, Queenberry, and Shining Berry, so when Bright asks for her name she has the choice of giving away her (a) personhood, (b) role as the protecter of her people, or (c) her fear and Doubt that made her hide away for a like a century, so good ending is she picks option C and doeasn't eat what Bright gives her(like the opposite of the Garden of sweet delights end)
the bad end costume is where Strawberry picks option A and eats what Bright asks of her, here she is going to eat that strawberry straight from Bright's mouth and then make out with her sloppy style (/j)
Now, the bad end costumes
a couple of concepts, for strawberry i tried picking out a different place to put butterfly wings each time, main theme was like an eternal bride and protector, played around with a cage skirt, covering her face cause of giving away her personhood, letting her face out cause Bright wouldn't want it cover and she's Her's now
for Bright, fairy princess/fae queen, that's it, eternal sugar's costume just made her fancier so I basically did the same thing and gave her some gold to match with Strawberry, and tried to make the wings and hair different each time
not final, but a good stopping point for now until the garden of sweet dreams comes out, i tried out some other stuff too like changing the gold to silver to see how that looked, tried putting stuff in Bright's hair, making the sheer part of her dress more cloud-like, etc. we'll see

hello hello!! its a big giant post about my beasts and their designs! ill be going over the different inspirations and thoughts i had while making these designs, alongside the talks I had with my beta reader Bea about them!
Swapping out the Beasts
lets talk about my choices and such first. the beast have been in the works for longer than the ancients, actually!
first we'll cover the whos and whys! it took me a little bit to chose who exactly i wanted my beasts to be. i knew i wanted rye, pie (though at first it was going to be stardust), and bright right from the start, but it was figuring out silence and (at the time) deceit that was giving me trouble. before I settled on BR, i actually considered crepe to be custards beast, until my lovely bea pointed out that BR would be perfect for the role!!
cant exactly remember why we chose dozer in the first place, but i think it stemmed off of this joke. ironically, many things that happen in my stories tend to stem off of a joke.
but in the end, the biggest reason (outside of spoilers) i chose dozer to be silence was because of this phrase
Designs
okay now the stuff you actually want to see!
around the same time i was writing the dream a little dream of me arc, i was figuring out how our beasts would look! coincidentally, daldom was also our first look at BRC (or the lack thereof)
most of it was just musings at first, deciding that bright would be a fairy (later fae), pie would have her ribbons be snakes, raisin would be based off of mourning practices, etc. after that it was a matter of figuring out what exactly each beast would wear and stylistic choices.
when this blueberry pie costume for ovensmash came out, i was absolutely ecstatic because!! that was the look i was going for! ofc i didnt want to over complicate my designs so, while i was inspired, I made the outfit a more simple hanfu, which leaned more chinese than korean, but i thought it looked better! i really liked the colors they used for the costume so i did Yoink that, because it was pretty and the gradient of her original dress... wasn't my favorite. I also used similar colors for her eyecings, keeping her original color for the base.
i also loved the pose they gave her and i wanted her to be holding her snake, so I did my best to replicate it.
the reason i went with snakes is a reference to the story of the Garden of Eden and the snake who lead Eve to the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Since she was the Archive of Knowledge, I thought it was fitting. and also its cute to theres that.
her soul jam placement took over the gem she already had. she was such a perfect fit she already had a place for me to put Futility. love u pie <33
with gingerbright, I later went with her being fae. now the thing about fae is that traditionally, they dont have wings, but without them she just looked sort of... empty? i was actually convinced in my decision to keep her wings after i was on a walk and i saw this gorgeous butterfly that had pink details on its wings. everybody say thank you random butterfly.
bright was... ridiculously hard to pin down for some reason? i went through about three different iterations before i finally came up with a design i liked.
i also tried multiple variations of her soul jam placement and shape, before just going with the ESC shape and crown because its recognizable and i liked it.
moving on to black raisin cookie. the first few ideas i had for her were overwhelmingly colorful and just didnt fit.
toraja is a colorful and beaded look, using a lot of reds. because brc was going to be purple, the colors would often clash, no matter what I tried.
antyeshti had the same sort of issue. the white and the flowers gave her a very wonky look and i struggled to make them fit the CRK sprite style. so i kept her very simple, relying more on what she already had with a few spruce ups! youre perfect as you are, BRC <33
the wings on her head, while matching a future awakened design for custard, are also in reference to Seraphim, who are often depicted with multiple sets of wings and eyes/are faceless.
her soul jam took on the design on her eyecing in her original form, both as a callback and for genuine lore reasons.
rye... is a cowboy. shes a cowboy! i like cowboys! im southern! ive had a lot of cowpoke characters in the past, so it was pretty easy to adapt her to my liking.
with rye, it was more a matter of adding details to her design, making her poncho more eye catching and balancing out the yellows (because in her og design its uneven and its pissed me off for YEARS!)
i couldnt find a good photo of chaps, so everyone say thank you fallout wiki (another favorite game of mine). i thought adding in little details like that would bring out the Soul Jam more, which I did make into a belt buckle, because cowboy.
i made her a lot sharper, with her shoes having longer spokes and having her hair be more wild and her braid shorter and less flowy. it gives her silhouette a more unstable look.
also! her eyecing is a reticle! an aiming apparatus!
finally... my sweetest boy. dozer. it is INSANELY difficult to turn a character with three colors into a beast cookie, let me tell you. i was genuinely hitting my head against my desk trying to figure it out. he doesnt even have normal eyecings (┬┬﹏┬┬)
the most i had in mind for him when it came to designs was that i wanted him to be in a night gown and i wanted him to look slightly similar to saint b.
it was @summerdoddles idea to cover dozer in moss! (amazing little doodle of him which inspired the better pose for his sprite.)
i was also have issues with colors, especially when it came to balancing the blue of his clothes with the moss. so i went looking for color ideas on the cr wiki (thank you cr wiki) and found this landmark from the wind archer update that had the perfect greens i was going for!
thanks again summer for being a great sport and listening to my ramblings. but the end result was absolutely perfect!!

Heyo!!!! So, uh, I've been really thinking about the AU and how it works lore-wise, because I use this blog to figure out how I want the story to work and get ideas from any interactions I have! (If you're someone who's followed me for a WHILE, you know what I always circle around to.. heh. TvT). And while having some time off this blog (albeit unwillingly) I've had time to truly reflect character decisions and drive, and flaws in my writing! So I present to you... The AU timeline!!!!! (If you really wanna.)
Segment 1. Introduction.
Introduces the Bravetrio and their environment.
They kill a witch, ogh- (big surprise they've been at it for a while)
They discover the Beast Cookies! (And the Silver Tree)
They (WIZARD.) break the seal of the Silver Tree, OGH.
They run into White Lily and Pure Vanilla!
They're taken in to the Faerie Kingdom for safe keeping!
Segment 2. Story beats before the "Witchkin" beasts. (This part might be long.)
Getting to know the Faerie Kingdom!
Wizard and Brave follow Pure Vanilla...
The Spire of Truth and Deceit and the their attempt to get Shadow Milk on their side.
Double Crossing Pure Vanilla!
It didn't work because they got double DOUBLE crossed.

Returning to the Fae (And to Strawberry).
Brave gets jealous. (AKA White Lily is a good mother.)

White Lily makes her journey, leaving the Bravetrio with Pure Vanilla

Nothing much happens except they meet Crepe. They hate each other.
Also, Wizard discovers a secret.
White Lily returns and Pure Vanilla bring the trio back to her (he needs her help parenting- definitely a gentle parenting-er..)

They join "forces."
Brave is then thrown into an oven. womp womp.
The Ultimate Cookie is born.
The beasts are MURKED, except for Silent Salt. Since he was with White Lily. (Rip, their souls still live on tho)
The Ancients are then defeated..
Segment 4. The Witchkin.
OFF SCREEN
Ulti reunites with Bright and Dozer, (Delusion and Hope.)
Divine and Ulti get married, yay?
They split the kingdoms amongst each other:
Faerie Kingdom: Ulti.
Vanilla Kingdom: Divine
Golden Cheese Kingdom: Straw- I mean Shining Berry!
Hollyberry Kingdom: Bright (Bright Sugar Star Cookie.)
Dark Cacao Kingdom: Dozer! (but not actually cuz he's too nice.)
(technically off screen but will be flashed back to?) Dozer befriends Silverbell and Mercurial Knight. (They also tell him the truth about the ancients. He decides to take action.)
Dozer begins learning magic with Divine (they hate this child mind you.)
ON SCREEN.
Just so ya'll know it's been 7 fucking years.
Dozer breaks the seal once more, freeing the Ancient Heroes. (Also accidentally commits treason, oh well.)
Aaaaand I'm actually gonna stop there. Haha, losers. Mostly because I'm not certain how I want to order the next events, even though they're my favourite events. But that's okay. I might be drawing/sketching more than actually rping this out, but asks to anyone at anypoint in the timeline are certainly welcome! But please just specify who and when you're asking O^O
