If there are multiple languages in sof is there one language that's spoken by ( almost) everyone??
Yes actually there are multiple languages in SoF.
There's old Stellarian, a fae language, and it's your typical "can't tell lies" language but the reason why it's impossible to lie in old Stellarian is because of the grammar of that language is structured. I haven't gone too deep in that because I'm not that into linguistics to work out the grammar. Whatever I'm not Tolkien lol.
Then there's the Common Language, which. Yeah that's the name. It's supposed to be a joke. It stems from old Stellarian, but it's got a bit of everything from other languages. It's like English but in my setting.
There's regional languages in Stellaris, most of them corresponding according to what country you live in. There's regional dialects and stuff like that.
Ionians also have multiple languages, again, nationwise, but it's pretty clear actually. Demons have a couple of languages and then those have dialects. A lot of these are almost entirely spoken languages.
Old Stellarian and the Common Language have a similar script, except the latter has certain letter symbols that didn't exist in old Stellarian.
