At this very moment, I am just getting some of my asks answered while I wake up. Seriously, I woke up, and basically came straight to the computer lol.
I’m not feeling so bad today, energy-wise, so I think I might do some list work after all. Get some solid work done on my blog. Because the gods know it needs it.
I also brought my hard drive along with me, so there are a few sigils I may be able to post to @sigiliuvenum today too. :3

Mm. This … I have experienced this.
Good times, good times! Shower insufficient to restore things to normal but then again why would it this was hardly a “normal” sort of energy WHOMP (and the reconnection may have been more than just “restored to previous state” but I’m not really sure).
I’m glad my plans for the day were “stay inside and loaf around.”

I always like hearing what you have to say about things . . . though, I'm not sure what debacle has occurred.
The debacle goes something like this:
Diverse Writer writes a YA book. From what I understand, it is based in Diverse Writer’s Diverse Experiences. Diverse Writer starts putting out advance review copies and Diverse Reviewers start looking at them.
Then one Diverse Reviewer discovers that the book is Problematic and the shit hits the fan.
I have not read the book, and I’m white. So I do not know whether it’s Actually Racist or just Generally Problematic. But the excerpt in the article made it look like it was Bog-Standard Fantasy Racism against Beings That Do Not Real, and the plot of the book partly included the protagonist overcoming said Bog-Standard Fantasy Racism.
Well, without finishing it, Diverse Reviewer posts a review of the book saying it’s HORRIBLE and RACIST and NO ONE SHOULD READ IT because it MADE THEIR SKIN CRAWL.
This started a series of Twitter Mobs on both sides- one defending the Diverse Author, one defending the Diverse Reviewer, both doing some cruel shitty things and engaging in the general pile-on that seems so common on there.
The general consensus is that this whole... thing ... is a microcosm of everything that’s wrong with the YA Diverse Books industry.
Outrage gets clicks and likes, so people have an incentive to get outraged over flimsier and flimsier premises. It is easier and easier to harass people online every day, and someone with even a small following can call up a horde of flying monkeys to make your life hell, sometimes even inadvertently. If you give someone a bad review wherein you claim they’re Racist, you can ruin their entire career- and on the flip side of that, it’s really really easy for authors to respond to reviews and screw over a reviewer.
This is my Hot Take, which is basically “can we not assume people who write a character overcoming their bigotry are bigots”.
