Studyblr reintro
Hi! I'm Tofu (he/him or she/her) and I am not a student. I graduated four years ago. I got a job adjacent to my degree subject that I really enjoy. Things are almost great! Except I'm still restless and unfulfilled and I miss uni life.
Turns out learning is not just the means to a perfect end, but is something I absolutely need to keep doing to thrive. So we're back to studyblr to help me work on a mix of professional and personal skills.
It's been a while since I was here and most people have graduated and moved on, so I'm looking for new people to follow, especially if we share goals!
WHAT I'M LEARNING/WANT TO LEARN
☀️PROFESSIONAL Excel, HTML/CSS, Blender
☀️PERSONAL Digital art, gamedev

it's spring break, and my roommates all went home, so i brought out the white foam boards for a photography session. didn't want to look weird while my roommates were here lol 😅
anyways, i got myself a foil quill during the holiday season and only started using it like last month. my bujo is so pretty now! literally can't stop looking at it 😍
i also crammed in some monthly spreads because i rarely take pictures while my roommates are home. so this is all I got for the past 3 months

HOW TO FIND YOUR ART STYLE: a summary of the notes I took during illustrators fest 2021
Finding your own art style can be a long process. I’ve definitely struggled (and sometimes still struggling aha) to get to a point where I can look at my art and go “yeah, I like that!”, but I hope this can help you as it helped me. It certainly put some things into perspective :’D
I plan on making more summaries of the stuff I learned in the workshop, so stay tuned!

I saw this book on twitter when discussing the Scottish witch trails and I’ve been waiting till pay day to order it. It immediately struck me as an important book in itself but I reasoned that I could use the local history in my comic as well. I’ve started reading it and already the introduction has inspired me. It talks about the realisation of the lack of women in history and the lack of women who are comemorated for their part in history. It talks about how this is a major part of womens equality and feminism today, how men grow up seeing statues and plinths and streets named after men in history and how women don’t get to grow up like this. Particularly I was moved by the fact that there is only five statues comemorating women in the whole of Glasgow. I can’t believe that I’ve lived in Glasgow for 19 years, seeing Glasgow green and George square all this time and I’ve never realised how there were so little women. Even in the whole of Britain there is only 15% of statues are raised to women and most of those are of Queen Victoria.
All this to say is that I think this book will also give me a starting point of explaining why the Scottish witch trials are important to remember today. Because womens history is important to remember.
