A Not So Common  Patient Animal: Telly Tater

Telly Tater is an animated (in the old fashioned sense of the word) couch potato.  He is a bit over 30 years old and was starting to show his age.  As his family wrote:

Telly’s stitching is starting to split in places and he has lost some stuffing.  He has been missing an arm for a long time.

These were the diagnosis photos they sent.

We decided that a spa an wound repair were in order, as well as a new arm.  The arm would get as close as possible to the original, though we knew from the outset we wouldn’t be able to get a perfect match for both color and texture.

Telly arrived at the hospital with a buddy... and a tourist map of San Francisco.  Just in case he got lost or had spare time for site-seeing:

The plan was to start with his spa, but as he was unstuffed, I found some very unusual stuffing:

His person wrote:

No wonder he wasn’t feeling well with all the ribbons in him. Looks like he was stuffed with many years worth of holidays!

He was already feeling better in his bubble bath:

Clean and dry, he got his new heart (with just original stuffing, no ribbons per his family’s request):

Then he got a new arm and the first photos for chubbiness judging were sent:

His person wrote:

Telly looks fantastic!  I don’t think we’ve seen him looking so healthy in quite a few years.  He is a little more full in his middle than he was originally so it would be great to take a bit of his stuffing out.

So a bit of stuffing came out the next morning, and more photos were sent:

Just the right chubbiness!  Telly Tater and his buddy were ready to fly home to Massachusetts:

His family wrote:

We wanted to thank you for your care of Telly.  My family was so excited to see Telly when he returned home and they are still talking about his amazing transformation.  He was stuffed just enough, his new arm looks great and his eyes are so bright.  Now all of his stuffed friends want a spa treatment!
