just read chapter 11!!!
i saw in your reply to one of the asks that jaemin and y/n think with their head a lot, and jaemin knows her heart is still with jeno - these 2 points may act as a bit of a cushion for jaemin if he doesn't end up with her. but as you described in chapter 11, jaemin has been so present in y/n and jun's lives that their house is basically his (second) house. and i can't help but think, if y/n doesn't end up with him, how broken he's going to be...he's been pining for her since uni, has been the best support for y/n and jun through all this drama, and he hasn't been the slightest bit toxic at all. i know he doesn't do this expecting anything in return and he truly just wants to love her. but he's bound to be so so heartbroken if she chooses jeno instead 🥺
and poor jun is going to be so confused!! the way he trusts jaemin so much now, and also saw how jeno was being nasty to y/n - i wonder if his little heart has been swayed. and i can't imagine how confused and conflicted he'll be if jeno and y/n get back together and he has to say bye to jaemin :(
also, if you don't mind me asking, would you be willing to write a little more about y/n and jaemin's relationship? there was a 4-month time skip in chapter 11, and i would love to know how they've grown closer during that time - including some notable events, and also how they feel about each other now (aka has the way they feel changed in these 4 months?). i understand you're swamped with life so it's totally fine if you don't feel up to this! sending love and lots of energy to get through all that life has thrown at you 💫
heyyyyy this is from chapter 11 but i spent my time writing this in bangkok and only wanted to publish this until it's all doneeee! thank you for this asskkkkk, i had such a great time answering this! <3 if anyone is interested in sbu canons, i'll be more than happy to write about them<333
adding small exclusive scenarios here to counter the wait for chapter 13 :<
jaemin and y/n trades books with each other and they have a sunday routine where they’d spend the morning reading in the living room with jun doing his own thing by the side (usually he’s arranging his binder or playing pretend with his soft toys!)
jaemin would usually annotate his books in the margins on his thoughts/reactions/ phrases that he thinks y/n might like and y/n will answer back (often with some cute reaction doodles) within the same margins before returning jaemin’s books.
y/n developed a habit of drawing cute little doodles on the shower glass for jaemin (something that she does absentmindedly in the past but continued when jaemin added on to her doodles one day). sometimes they even make dinner plans just through that shower glass.
y/n and jaemin often discuss the cases they're currently handling in ambiguity terms as part of their end of day conversations before bed. it's something that the two of them secretly enjoys even though neither of them would like to admit because the conversation would often turn into mock trial that will run through the night (which will in turn help them during trials and depositions) and with someone being butt hurt that they've lost.
jaemin picks jun up occasionally from time to time. whenever he does, he brings jun to have cheesecake because it's his favourite. it quickly became their little ritual, even if it often landed them in trouble; by the time they got home, jun would be too full for dinner, and y/n would end up scolding jaemin for spoiling him with dessert first.
somewhere along the way, y/n found herself lingering on the sight of jaemin in the simplest moments, catching herself craving his touch. they had kissed, shared a bed, yet jaemin was always careful—never crossing boundaries, always respecting her space. but she wanted more. without realising it, y/n had grown used to reaching for him, slipping her arm through his whenever they went out, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
y/n cleared away the last of jeno’s things—photographs, coffee mugs, stray clothes, and everything in between. jaemin helped too, carefully taking down the wedding photo that had hung in her study, packing it away with the rest. it had been chen le’s idea, his gentle nudge that maybe it was time for y/n to let go of jeno’s remnants and start fresh. he knew it would be good for both her and jaemin. and so, y/n finally did it. to be freed of jeno's ghost.
jaemin always joins board game nights with y/n and friends. and he always wins much to their dismay.
