I haven't been posting much lately and the reason for that is because two weeks ago we had Sunset Origami put down.
The final verdict on her illness was Probably Cancer. With such a rapid decline the vets recommended that euthanasia would be the kindest option. So we took her home, spent two final days feeding her up on all her favourite treats- fish, cheese, butter, ice cream, temptations... And then the vet came by and performed an at-home euthanasia.
As hard as it was losing her, the hardest part was actually watching my beautiful, happy, healthy cat fade away over the last 6 months. She really did just deteriorate so quickly, and I have no doubt that I made the right choice.
As my sister said, 'She's going to the cardboard box factory in the sky, where she can sit on cardboard boxes and stare at walls all she likes.'
I think she would like that.
