One of my top games for this current generation is Monster Hunter World, for so many reasons, but I really wanted to dive into my favourite part; the wicked-...
THERE IS SO MUCH VALUE IN MHW’S REPLAYABILITY
So hey, I made a fun little video on Monster Hunter World because GOD DAMNIT MHW has one of the best games to replay.
MHW has an impressive 14 different weapon classes to choose from and you have ALL of them available to you from the very first time you select a weapon.
Your weapon is crucial in Monster Hunter. You build it, create a relationship with it, it becomes part of your identity as a hunter.
And then you just might get bored of it and drop it all together.

THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS
I stopped playing MHW for a while and I rocked the Hammer for 40 - 50 hours of gameplay. But I eventually got the itch for bashing some dino dome and jumped back into it but I decided to pick up a new weapon; the Long Sword.
The beautiful part about it is that there was no punishment, no incredible set-back, no huge dropoff and I DIDN’T HAVE TO RE-START THE ENTIRE GAME!
But you do have to grind the weaker monsters to build that weapon up to where you’re leveled so you go back and fight a Jagraas or a Tobi Kadachi just to watch yourself die.
Humiliatingly.

The beauty, true beauty, of using a new weapon is that you have to re-learn the monster’s mechanics and gimmicks. What was once your strength now may be your weakness.
You’re not as invincible switching form the Lance. You have to get closer switching from the Bow. Everything is different.
This creates a new experience, almost a new game.
That is why I love Monster Hunter so much. It doesn’t punish you for trying something new or hide possibilities behind paywalls. It simply gives you everything and let’s you do the exploring and developing on your own.
