got some epic sunglasses today. my dad told me i looked like john lennon from the beatles. so when my mum picked me up from his later, i thought it would be funny to get in the car with my sunglasses and tell her i was john lennon.
she deadass thought i was coming out as trans. she said 'well if thats who you are, im fine with that'. she didn't know who john lennon was 🙏
i was cackling the entire car ride home. also, for the record: im not trans.

Every time the topic of my gender comes up with my mum and she acknowledged my queerness I go unsure (not because of her). And she just reassures me in the most casual yet comforting voice that it's not something she could or would want to change about me and that her job as somebody who loves me is to accept me and at those moments I really just want to happy cry.
