I like to imagine that there is a Cinderella Club in ever after high, Ashylin Ella is the leader along with Cinderlad and Ye xian kid, there are many different variants the of Cinderella story all over the world, I think it would of been cute if Ashylin and her counterparts had a club.

These have been in my wish list for about 10 years.

I personally think those Cinderellas are Ashlynn's ancestors. The day I finally get my hands on these, I'll be able to draft a family tree depending on which is older (of course there'll appear some contemporary cousins and everything will be a mess because tales don't evolve lineally and I'll just make myself go crazy...)

A club would be interesting. In my headcanon it would play as a distant cousins yearly reunion.

One of my favorite references for all things fairy tale is SurLaLune.

I discovered them many, many, many, many years ago. And it’s just such a nice collection of annotated fairy tales, that going back to it — even after all this time — just feels like coming home.

Gotta buy ‘em all

Life is too short and my budget is too small, because I just learned about the series of collected fairy tales books from SurLaLune. Current obsessions are the Blue beard and Mermaid volumes, but I WANT THEM ALL!

On the marvelous SurLaLune website (a must for fairy tale lovers) I found this e-book with what are supposed to be Dutch fairy tales. They're a rather strange bunch, sought together by William E. Griffis, an early 20th century American researcher who traveled the world and stayed in the Netherlands for a while. The stories are quite long and to be honest don't seem very authentic to me. Actually, I'm sure they've been heavily edited, probably to make them more family-friendly and fit to put into a book. Still, they're nice, curious little tales littered with folkloric elements which certainly feel very Dutch(ish). So for everyone who's interested in this sort of thing - give it a try (also: SurLaLune is gigantic and a treasury of fairy tales, so why not search a bit more?). http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/books/dutch/griffis.html
