Labyrinthomyces donkii Malençon , an hypogeous ascomycete commonly found under Eucalyptus camaldulensis. Puppe-Snyltekølle (Cordyceps militaris)

Denne noget sært udseende køllesvamp vokser på sommerfuglepupper .

Svampen er indtil omkring kun 50 mm. høj; men alligevel temmlig iøjnefaldende med sin kraftige orange farve. Arten er ikke almindelig; men orekommer gerne  i større antal i gode sommerfugleår, hvilket i år må siges at have været.

Findes august til november.

Caterpillar Fungus (Cordyceps militaris)

This rather characteristic fungus grows on pupae of butterflies.

It grows to about 50 mm. and is rather conspicuous with its bright orange colouring. Though the species is uncommon, it does occur in rather large numbers in years with many butterflies which has been the case this year.

Found August through November.

Gul bævresvamp (Tremella mesenterica)

En iøjnefaldende bævresvamp, som kan findes hele året - også som her i let frostvejr. Arten vokser på døde grene på løvtræer, hvor den snylter på forskellige voksskind-arter (Peniophora).

Yellow brain fungus (Tremella mesenterica)

This characteristic jelly fungus can be found year round - even during periods of light frost in winter. The species is found growing on dead branches of deciduous trees where it is a parasite of various wood decay fungi (Peniophora).
