“send me a name + location”
pairing: seo changbin x reader
josh, your date, played on the pac man machine completely ignoring you. your arms were crossed, mentally thinking of blocking his number once he dropped you off at home. you walked over to a car racing game, sitting down on the seat it gave. you took your phone out and texted your friend, complaining about him.
changbin watched you, a small frown on his face. he saw josh a couple times through his week. changbin was the night worker for the local arcade, it was an easy job that paid bills. he mainly produced songs on his shift, a pair of headphones around his neck at all times, the black color contrasting the bright orange shirt his boss made him wear. he walked over to you, seeing as every customer was focused on their preferred game.
you looked up when the bright lights were blocked and looked into warm brown eyes. you stood up quickly, thinking the rather cute worker was going to scold you.
“oh, i’m sorry!” he gave you a soft smile, his heart fluttering at your voice.
“no, it’s okay. you can sit.” you sat down, a confused look on your face. “you just looked lonely over here so I decided to come over and I don't know... keep you company.” you couldn’t help the smile on your face.
“oh, do you do that to every person that walks in?” you teased and he laughed, sitting down in the other car game to your right.
“only the cute ones.” you laughed a bit, looking over at him.
“you know, i’m on a date.” he rolled his eyes and looked back at josh, who had moved to another game.
“and how is that working out for you cutie?” you quirked an eyebrow at the pet name.
“I think it just got better.” you flirted back and changbin smirked. he slipped some tokens into your machine and then his, linking the two.
“let’s play. if I win, you let me take you out on a date. and I promise it’ll be better than this.”
“and if I win?” you asked, placing your hands on the fake steering wheel.
“whatever you want.” he stated simply, you both pressing start to the game.
“what’s with the headphones?” you asked, turning a sharp corner in the game.
changbin looked over at you before speeding past you. “i’m a rapper and I produce the songs for my group sometimes while working here.” he shrugged as if it meant nothing.
“are you any good?” you finished the lap right after him.
“i’m alright.” he said, bumping your car and pushing you off the track.
“hm if I win, let me hear your newest track?” you asked and he turned his head at you, smiling a bit.
“sure cutie, although you may fall in love with my talent.” you laughed and changbin smiled wider, turning to the screen. his mouth dropped open when he saw you had already won. “you cheated!”
“no one told you to stare at me!”
“no one told you to be so cute!” he argued back and you bit your lip, shaking your head playfully.
“song.” you said, standing up and fixing your shirt.
“hey yn, are you ready to go?” josh had finally realized you were gone after using up all his tokens.
“i’m actually going to stay. thanks for tonight I guess.” you said, pulling changbin up by his hand. he laughed at josh’s dumbfound expression who left right away, slightly embarrassed.
changbin promised to take you home which is why you still sat there behind the counter as he closed up the arcade. you took the headphones off as the last song played and he locked the doors.
“so?” he asked, rocking back and forth in front of you, slightly nervous about what you thought.
“you're really good bin,” he smiled at the nickname, “so is your group.”
“did you fall in love?” he teased, getting closer to you.
“hm I don’t know. I think I need something more.” you stood up, moving to stand in front of him.
“yeah? like what?” his head tilted to the side and you looked up at him through your lashes.
“like this.” you leaned in and you felt his hands go to your waist, lifting you onto the counter filled with toys and prizes under the glass top. your lips locked, both your faces illuminated by the glowing lights of the games.
