Simon dating someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
Gn! Reader, no use of y/n, mixture of 09 and 19 lore.
__________
You don't tell him about your diagnosis at first, even after you start dating. People assume too much when you tell them. You don't know if you ever planned on telling him at all, your headmates sure as hell weren't gonna. It wasn't until you woke up one night screaming and sobbing, absolutely terrified, that it became enough for him to start pressing.
That night was bad.
You were working a very normal shift at your very average retail store when someone who looked like your abuser walked in. It wasn't them but that doesn't matter to your brain; the panic, fear, and anxiety coursed through you like they really did walk in.
Simon noticed you were on edge when you came home, especially when you wouldn't let him touch you. That worried him the most, you never pushed him away like that. Even when you don't want to be touched you never throw him off of you like he burned you, but he couldn't get an answer out of you. Sleeping it off never worked but that equally never stopped you from trying. You never expected it to result in the most vivid dream you've ever experienced. A play by play of trauma locked from your memory on purpose.
Simon wasn't able to fall asleep, not when something clearly happened to you, it didn't stop him from startling when you started screaming bloody murder out of nowhere. He could see it in your eyes that you weren't all there, you were staring directly at him and yet clearly not seeing him at all. If he tried to get close to you and comfort you you would only sob louder and beg him not to hurt you. It took 20 minutes for you to calm down enough, only it wasn't you anymore. No you went to that nice comfortable place in your brain where nothing could hurt you anymore. It's also where you stayed for a week. Not that he knew, it is a covert disorder for a reason. No he could tell something wasn't quite the same but you did also randomly scream bloody murder in your sleep so it's not like he put 2 and 2 together.
When you did finally front again after your headmates deemed you stable enough to go back Simon still had that pensive worried look on his face. No one said anything to him but it felt cruel to leave him out of the loop. So you did the one thing you never thought you would do.
You told him.
He thought you were breaking up with him when you sat him down to explain everything. The literal binder of information you printed out for him threw him for a loop until he realized you are not, in fact, breaking up with him. He appreciated the binder.
After that he, at first, treats you guys like you're fragile. To him you must be. He has been tortured, abused, buried alive, and seen death since he was a small child and yet his brain is whole. Fucked up but whole. Surely something truly horrific must have happened for you to develop this right? It doesn't take overly long for him to find out that DID doesn't work like that and he's a little guilty that he's relieved. He knows that your trauma isn't lesser but to know that it probably wasn't more than what he's survived makes him glad in a way. He wouldn't wish his life on most people.
He started noticing the differences after you made a nice little list of everyone's names and some generic information about them. He could tell your switches before even yall could. He knew everyone's body language and voices in under a month. Being a soldier helps in that way, having to always notice the smallest of changes in body language can sometimes mean life or death on the field.
Not everyone likes him at first, still wary and shielded. He may be your boyfriend but that doesn't mean he's everyone's. That fact was hard for him to grasp for a while. It helped once everyone warmed up to him especially now that yall aren't so worried about making sure you are the only one out when he's around.
Your relationship gets easier when you don't have to have walls a mile in every direction trying to keep you safe. It will never be perfect with functional multiplicity but neither are either of you.
This book contains jokes and memes related to mister Jorge Rivera's tiktok, so it requires some knowledge in that aspect.
I am not familiar with Record of Ragnarok just yet, it's a newer fandom for me so not too many ideas with that one. I am also familiar with Cult of the Lamb gameplay, and were not gonna need the lore since it's just for the lamb outfit.

Part 1 :You just wanted to comfort the poor cyclops as a the ghost of his dead fluffy sheep friend and live Stardew valley style, how did it end up with you catching the attention of the gods?!
Chapter 2 : Counting sheepĀ
You are in charge of watching over the flock when the cyclops is away, and the easiest method of watching over them is by putting them to sleep so they donāt wander. You might've been a bit loud though, why is there a god asleep on the ground?!
This goes out to @yuuuraaa and my first commentor @gayerthanthegays
shoutout to @gayerthanthegays and yuuurrraaa on Tumblr for motivating this chapter.
Poli went out for⦠something, you weren't listening very much since you were busy with your own issues. So now you're stuck with watching the sheep again, which normally would be okay, but right now you are trying to figure out what went wrong with the system that caused the sudden World shift, and they keep wandering about!Ā
Neru said this wasn't supposed to happen since they had fail safes, but not impossible to encounter, since previous users experienced it as well, despite it all.Ā
Neru panicked when they couldn't find a way to solve the problem at first, nearly flying through the screen with how fast they were going. You told them to keep calm and that you have faith in their abilities; they saved you before.
Just avoid interacting with anything powerful, and you should stabilize enough to find the problem. Just ignore the numerous powerful entities in this world while being deep in one of their territories, and we should be fine!
Letās be optimistic, since this Poseidon appears neglectful enough to avoid coming to the island before you can sense him and hide, you should probably be fine.Ā
āOk, thanks, System. Thank you also, Neru, for coming to help.āĀ

You are currently wrangling back Parton, Dollyās twin, back to the flock since that lamb, mischievous and energetic, got startled by a butterfly and ran off.
You can hear the sheep baa-ing and running further in, you calmly follow after the panicky sheep, slowly scaring the sheep towards one of your traps built for runaway sheep and later hear the trap click into action and a confused baa follows. You climb out of the shrubbery and into a clearing where you spot Parton, pinned down by a net, finally calming down since the butterfly flew away.
āCheeky Parton, you fought a weird hog beast but are afraid of a butterfly?ā you shake your head as you approach the calm animal and unhook him from the trap and tie a lead to his homemade collar, you cut from the cyclopās spare clothes. He has luxurious, high quality cloth but still chooses the toga you made for him.Ā
Which, sweet of him to cherish it, but c'mon dude! This was perfectly good too. Not that the clothes you made him were bad or anything, you tried to copy the style of the traditional robes of Greece, but the clothes you made were just slightly off, given they were made with modern techniques.
Ā Which looked out of place before, but not anymore since apparently? The gods here have instagram and social media, at least their own version anyway.Ā
This place almost reminds you of home, the technology, the memes, the pollution is better here, oh and one major difference, everyone is Just. Built. Different.Ā Like supermodel hot in some cases and hob goblin in others, with historically inaccurate clothing choices sometimes. Like the poseidon here, why is his chest just Out? You felt scandalized at first when you saw him but got over it since he was ruder than he was hot.
Ā Epic Poseidon was beautiful and regal and he was- semi modest? You don't remember. At least he wasn't flashing the world, he had some shame. No shaming this poseidon here, maybe for also being neglectful and a rude jerk, but dress how you want king, just give me a warning next time. Some of us are still going to react like Victorian ladies ok?
As you slowly approach your little campsite full of fat, round, fluffy and well-cared-for sheep flock, you begin singing a tune. A familiar tune that the sheep remember belong to you alone. Safety. Rest. Peace.Ā
They clump together in groups and begin snoozing as your song becomes nothing more than a mellow hum in their cottony ears. The lamb you're leading begins trotting sluggishly, letting out sleepy baaaās until he trips over his twin and the trio of Dolly, Parton and Lil Bean begin snoozing comfortably on the ground.Ā
You carefully untie the lead from the Partonās collar and make your way to the center and make yourself comfy on a flat rock and bob your head to the melody with a small chiming of your bell collar.Ā
Ching. Ching. Ching.
You continue humming and keep your voice steady as you receive a System notification.

You almost choke on your voice and nearly startle the others awake, which wouldnāt be good, cause apparently another god is here?! What are they doing here? Aren't gods supposed to be territorial or something? That was the whole premise of Epic: donāt cross the gods and their domains!Ā
And god of mischief? Isnāt that from a completely different religion? Why is there a god from a different region in Greece? Are you even in Greece anymore? Stupid world shift. Ok, let's locate the god and hide far away, the sheep should be fine, if not, youāll fight for them, godly being be damned.Ā Ā
You can blow some Forgetful Mist into their face (Wait. Would that even work on them?), and if things go south, you can teleport the sheep to the cave and abandon this world. That is, if Neru has fixed the problem with the System yet, they said as long as the world isn't a Corrupted World, your leave should be easy.
You can't deal with a corrupted world right now!
Your inner panic is interrupted as some of the sheep begin stirring, and you quickly continue your song. You're looking for anything out of the ordinary. OK, so this god is the god of mischief? From the Norse religion. So the guy must be Loki. ok what do you know about him? You think as you move around clumps of sleeping sheep, looking here and there for anything humanoid.
Marvel made him dark-haired, dressed in green, and pale like a fairy, right? Wait, did they? Or was that one of the worlds you visited? You put in a System Search request and make your voice louder so that things stay asleep.
Is he gonna appear like that or maybe something traditional like Epic Poseidon, dressed in a chiton from Greece? Will he be dressed up as a Viking in cold-weather clothes? Hmmm. You think as you slowly make rounds around the edge of your campsite, singing ever melodic and prominent.Ā
Can this god shapeshift? Myths said he did so, is he disguised as one of your sheep? You begin taking extra careful glances of your sheep as your System finally grants you access to the Research menu.
Why would he, though? gods only ever hid if they were in... trouble! Oh gosh, did this guy make someone mad and was hiding here?! Will they follow him here?!Ā
You stumble on a root, causing you to click something on your System screen, eating dirt, and momentarily ceasing your singing. You quickly get back to it, but that small slip-up and noise woke up something previously happily sleeping, now rudely awoken. Now searching for who interrupted their actual real sleep in a millennium.
Ah biscuits.
āHmmm, now who would dare interrupt a god's sleep? Come out, whoever you are, and I just might be merciful... Or not~ that was a pretty good sleep after all..ā a male voice speaks, and you immediately freeze. Oh snap, Time to flee- Hey! What are you doing to my sheep!
Suddenly, he grabs one of the now awake, confused and bleary-eyed sheep and shakes them around causing it to cry out. āWhat a funny looking sheep you are. Did you interrupt my sleep?ā The poor lamb, Junior officer Woolly, the young calf to Lieutenant Chops, cries out for its parents, who cry out but to him also, but keep a distance from the stranger.Ā
Why is this guyās hair green?! And heās in modern clothing too. What is up with these guys and shirt cutouts in their clothes! Donāt they get cold- oh wait yea, they donāt care. Still, this guy is a jerk! Why is he shaking a poor baby? Godly be darned, you are gonna kill himā¦
āHmm and where did that lovely music go too, I wasnāt aware that one of apolloās nymphs was hereā he puts down the now shaken lamb as it scurries away on shaky legs and you watch with an aching heart as it stumbles and cries towards the pile of scared sheep now in the middle of the clearing bleating out for their currently missing protector, You.
āNo wait, this is Poseidon's territory... so they must be hiding. Oh, how fun! A game of hide and seek, and my prize could be some nice sleep, heehee~ā He snaps towards your campsite and vanishes with smoke, now on the rock platform you were perched on before. The sheep became terrified again and began to move towards the edge of the clearing, some making their way near you seeking comfort.
"Woolly! poor baby, cmon over here, I got you now, I'll get rid of the bad man for you like how Antonius planned for Telebob. I'll make him into fertilizer for my gardenias." You mutter to the sheep currently shaking in your arms.
āI swear I heard the singing come from here.ā He approaches the path you took to get Parton back to the flock. āHmm no footprints, only dumb sheep prints- hang on.ā He crouches down to the ground.
āA second set of footprints, how small they are. Huff, and here I thought I had a pretty nymph singing me to sleep, at least the child could still be a musician in my court.ā Say what now? During your panic of whatever the heck the man meant, he turns into a snake and begins sniffing around on the ground where you previously were.
Oh, okay, so this world has shapeshifters who kidnap people just minding their own business? That is completely Greek mythos, please stop.
The sheep are getting noisy, calling out and crying. It is not safe here. I have to get him away from the sheep. You have finally decided on how you are going to kill this man; screw divine idiots, he crossed a line by harming the lambs. If you do manage to kill him, Neru can probably type it off as self-defense (probably).
"Wait, can gods die here? Neru, can we try that out?"

Crumbs, this is the worst time to have ever suggested Neru do maintenance early. Ok, Plan C: Kill the guy without help from Neru.
"Found you."
Mheee- Dude. Let go of me! You are snatched out of your hiding spot by your sheep ankles and then proceed to be held by your cloak. It would have choked you if not for the fact that you have enough fluff there. Your not-a-beard, beard saved the day! (You're just floofy :) )
"Huff, all that work for a weird-looking sheep with a cloak... how disappointing. Is it the caretaker for the flock? Where is the owner?" He glances around, noting the lack of anything with cognitive thought, especially the sheep he is holding; its head is just empty.
This is getting tiring. Next world, you're choosing a tall character to step on people. All right,(non-existent) Mods, let's ban this guy.
As you begin charging your equippedĀ āā§āĖā§[Mini Banhammerā]ā§Ėā from your Inventory and plan to smack this guy dead, the roar of waves distracts both of you.
"What do you think you are doing in my territory and touching what's mine." Ruh roh raggy. I'm going to be made into lamb chops at this rate. A man emerges from the nearby river, riding against the current, and jumps down from the wave he used as his ride. He stands tall and poised, with a golden trident glimmering in his hands.
"Ah, poseidon! Nothing to concern you, just grabbing something that wandered into your territory. I'll be quick and remove it soon," he turns around to face the newly arrived Jerk. This nymph is starting to not be worth the effort, now that poseidon has found me in his territory, I'll get an earful from Father, maybe I can pin this on Thor..
Water Jerk? What are you doing here? Did something happen to Poli? You worry as your struggling loses focus as the god no longer shakes and inspects you.
"You are in my territory. The sheep you have been disturbing are my son's. So that ugly Lamb in your grasp is mine. Now get out before I flush you out."
Yoink. Ching. Ching.
Did that waste of pollution just-? I will rob you when you blink, ugly sand model.Ā You huff indignantly now in his grasps and still being manhandled. Just shoo this guy away so I can run away with the flock. Wait- where are we going, put me down!
You witness him raise a hand and figures move in the ends of your vision towards your sheep. Wait- where are we going, put me down!
He then proceeds to toss you into the cold river. -No, not into the river! He's going to kill me!
You hear splashes in the water, followed by bleating calls of sheep. Not the sheep... I'll kill you next when I respawn if my sheep are dead... you vow as you're pulled under the current.
Someone please help the sheep....

Why did you end up here, in a marble throne room, with you trying desperately not to catch a man's eye?

You were having a horrible day, the system wouldn't stop fucking arguing, you had a horrible flare up during Charlie's activities and the WORST person to notice was the only one who did.
You just hope to be able to relax in Lucifer's room.
You upon closing the door to Lucifer's room, you find Vox and Alastor bickering over something you couldn't care to acknowledge at the moment. "Lu..?" You call out, desperate for a warm, feathered hug.
There's no answer, you try again, and Vox turns to you. Ignoring whatever insult Alastor just threw his way.
"He's out right now, doll." Vox replies nonchalantly, looking your tense frame over before meeting your gaze again. "You alright? You look... Bent out of shape."
"You're shaking, dear." Alastor tilts his head in your general direction, mostly staring at your shaky hands.
You know they doesn't mean it, but in the mess of nerves and anxiety and your dissociation causing identity issues which fucked up your day, you shake your head violently, protecting it from past experiences as Vox tries to reach for you.
"Dol-" "No. No. I'm sorry, I can't. I.. I can't do touch right now, okay? I'm sorry." You don't miss the way, Vox slowly retracts his hand, you don't miss the guilty look on his face, afraid he was causing such pain. But he wasn't, you wish you could tell him that but someone else decided you had enough experiencing pain and life, they switch with you.
Vox apologies but they just wave him off, going on about how you were just overwhelmed. But it's okay now. We're okay now, they said.
Vox looks at them until he nods, and mumbles softly about finding the "apple motherfucker" to help deal with this. Alastor keeps his eyes on them, attempting to make conversation but keeps being shut down.
You, internally, watch as this other alter.. Interacts with your lover. Reject his offers to chat or relax. Why? You don't know..
You don't have enough knowledge on this alter, nor enough communication with them to know what they want.
So you're stuck. Until something triggers you out again. You wait.
And wait.
And wait. Wait. Until Alastor moves to sit in the little corner he's made home in Lucifer's room.
He takes out a record for a familiar song, Alastor played this one specifically for you when you first told him about your more containment-like switching happening more often, he hoped it would bring you peace of mind like it did him.
Whipping your head over to the sound. You, slowly, as if something in your body is fighting you (which they probably are), get up. And walk steadily over to Alastor's little corner of Lu's room.
You sit next to him and he offers a smile, speaking joyfully for someone who had to deal with this nearly every week, "Welcome back, to the land of living, darling? How was your trip? Swift and peaceful, I hope?"
You smile despite the backlog of feelings building in your chest, "f.. Fine, Al." You stutter, "I'm just a bit overwhelmed with everything, your song helped bring me back though." Alastor nods, understandingly, though the others can't help but whisper that he doesn't.
You and Alastor hang out for a little longe in silence before Lucifer bursts into his room with a burst of red flame, he runs over to squeeze you and complain about the fact that wasn't here.
"I'm fine, Lu.. Just. A mildly upsetting switch. Happens every week."
Lucifer frowns "It only happens every week because being down HERE-" Lucifer chuckles, hate dripped with every word he said, like he was cursing himself for fucking up so bad that you fell down here. "-hurts you so much, you keep regressing in health.. Please let me - Er, us - help." His voice softens at the end.
"Heh, I mean even Mr. Tv man came to get me because he was worried about you! And he's as prideful as.. As.. Um. Hm." He pauses, trying to find a word then shakes his head absent mindly, then brightens up again. Looking up at you with those gleeful eyes. "The point being thaatttā"
"We care," Vox interrupted before Lucifer could start going on a long winded speech, ignoring Lucifer's glare. You didn't notice him come in or hear the door. "Somethings upsetting you, Finn.. At least let us know what it is."
You look down at the ground, at Lucifer's hands connected to your own, and at Vox and Alastor's shoes. You want to talk.. But you also really, really don't want to. But you sit down on the floor and decide to anyway.
"I hate being trapped. I hate switching, it's inevitable I know," you say quickly after seeing Vox open his mouth to speak, "I wish.. I could just be me. Just me. Only me. I wish I could get better at.. This. I wish we were never hurt, traumatized in the first place. I hate this." You stumble over your words sometimes, choke up on others, but they stay with you, no judgement.
"it sucks not knowing who you are at certain points in time. Or why you're doing something." You lean against Vox, who had moved to sit next to you on the floor, gripping his sleeve as he nods solemnly.
"I miss not knowing. About everything. I wish... I wish I could go back." You crawl into Vox's lap, feeling smaller, mire secure as you do so. Your voice seems smaller, are you switching again? "Which might seem weird.. But, ignorance is bliss. And I hate this knowledge I have."
"Well.. I can understand wanting to go back - not in the way you mean but still - Sometimes I wish I could go back too.. To the better times, right?" Lucifer smiled, his gaze softening.
"And it makes perfect sense, no need to explain, duck.. What cheers me up is thinking about the the good things about now! Like, Charlie, couldn't have had her if I was still in heaven!" You smile, which makes Lucifer perk up even more.
"As for switching," you turn in Vox's lap to see Alastor as he speaks, "like you said it's inevitable, unfortunately, and I - as well as Lucifer and picture box - don't know much about it. So, perhaps, filling us in would be a good distractor? Not to mention, you'd also be helping us." You nod, seeing how that could work.
"Um.. I-we could do that. It might be a little hard to do during big, long switches, but it's doable and we can inform while doing it!" You smile, leaning into Vox's chest more.
Alastor gets as close as he can without touching the supposedly horrid TV man to lightly kiss the top of your head, smiling softly when you gasp and look up at him in surprise and awe.
"No one's asking for that, darling.. Just take it a little at a time.."
This author doesn't have a tag list yet, feel free to ask.
A/n: Ahhhh! My first non drabble.. I think? Anyway, I wrote this emotional and then tried to edit it.. And I think I might have made it too wordy?? Maybe? Might be me overthinking though-
This was really fun to write.. Expect more like this in the future +(plus) when I have time!!
I opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was a vast white room, without walls or any clear boundaries. Strange, I thought. The last thing I remembered was sitting at my computer, playing a popular survival game. But now, I was here, in a place I didnāt recognize.
āWelcome, Guide.ā A calm, but cold voice greeted me from behind. I turned around to find a woman dressed in formal attire, her expression emotionless.
āWhere am I? Whatās going on?ā I asked, panic creeping in.
The woman gave a faint smile. āYou have been chosen to assume the role of a **Tutorial Guide** in the survival game you were playing. From now on, youāll guide the main character in this game to survive.ā
I was stunned. āI⦠transmigrated into a game?ā
āCorrect,ā she replied. āYouāre now part of the system. Your task is simple: guide the main character in this game until they survive and win. Itās straightforward, isnāt it?ā
Still in shock, I tried to grasp the situation. As a gamer, the idea was actually quite exciting. I loved that survival game, and getting involved directly in it sounded like a new adventure. But one thing intrigued me even moreāwho would I be guiding?
āWhoās the main character?ā I asked.
This time, the woman smiled more broadly. āHis name is Rion. Heās the protagonist of this world, a determined, intelligent, and incredibly talented warrior. But he still needs guidance to fully unlock his potential.ā
Rion. The name immediately struck me. I remembered that character from the gameāa tough, resilient figure who always caught my attention. My heart quickened without me even realizing it. Maybe this wouldnāt be such a bad job after all.
āAlright,ā I said, taking a deep breath. āIāll do my part.ā
---
I was now inside the game world, standing on the outskirts of a small village filled with smoke and ruins. This was the starting point of the gameās story. The main character, Rion, was alone after a bandit attack had destroyed his village.
As the **Guide**, I didnāt have a physical form. I was just a voice in his head, offering advice and instructions. But my interactions with Rion would be crucial to whether or not he could survive.
I decided to introduce myself.
āRion, listen to me.ā
Rion stopped in his tracks, glancing around even though he couldnāt see me. āWhoās there?ā
āI am your Tutorial Guide. My job is to help you survive in this world.ā
He looked cautious but curious. āGuide? What do you mean?ā
āThink of me as a voice in your head that will provide advice and strategies for the challenges ahead. Trust me, Iām here to help.ā
Rion nodded slightly, though still hesitant. āAlright⦠I donāt know who you are, but if you can help me, Iāll listen.ā
I smiled inwardly. This was a good start. Rion might not fully trust me yet, but over time, heād realize how important my presence would be.
---
Days passed, and I guided Rion through various challenges. From fending off wild animal attacks to finding food and water, and learning how to craft weapons from whatever he could find. Though this was just a game, the situations felt incredibly real.
One day, Rion faced a fight against bandits returning to raid his village. He struggled to fight them off with all his might, but the situation seemed bleak. The bandit was larger, stronger, and far more experienced.
āDonāt panic, Rion,ā I whispered in his mind. āWatch his footwork. Heās slow when he swings his sword.ā
Rion swallowed hard, but he listened to me. He swiftly dodged the banditās clumsy sword swipe and countered with a sharp punch to the banditās gut. In moments, the bandit collapsed.
āI⦠I did itā¦ā Rion muttered, panting heavily.
āYes, you did,ā I replied. āYouāre much stronger than you think.ā
For the first time, I noticed a small smile form on his lips. Rion was stubborn and independent, but over time, he was starting to trust me more deeply.
And before I knew it, each time I guided Rion, my heart would beat a little faster. There was something about him that made me want to keep supporting and protecting him. Maybe because, in this game, he was the only one I could rely on. Or maybe⦠my feelings were beginning to turn into something more than just my duty.
---
As time went on, the challenges in the game became more intense. Rion wasnāt just fighting human enemies anymore; he was up against monsters and supernatural beings lurking in every shadow. But with my strategic help, Rion continued to survive and grow into an increasingly unstoppable force.
However, beneath all that, something new was growing inside me. Every time Rion overcame an obstacle, I felt proud. Every time he got hurt, my heart ached. I realized that I had begun to care about Rion, not just as a character in the game, but as someone I wanted to protect with everything I had.
But I also knew one painful truth: I was only a voice, a mere entity in this game. Could these feelings ever become real? What if Rion knew I wasnāt a human being? Would he still trust me?
---
Rionās journey was nearing its end. The final battle against the biggest enemy was looming. I knew this would be an incredibly tough fight, but I believed Rion could win.
āRion,ā I called softly as he prepared for the last fight. āNo matter what happens, I will always be here with you.ā
Rion paused for a moment before answering calmly. āI know. And thank you⦠for everything.ā
As those words left his lips, a wave of emotion surged inside me. I couldnāt hold it back any longer.
āRion, thereās something I need to tell you. I⦠Iā¦ā
But before I could finish, the world suddenly turned white. I was ripped from my place and thrown back into the same white, empty room I had seen at the beginning.
āWhatās happening?ā I asked, panicked. āAm I finished?ā
The same woman appeared in front of me. āYes, your task is complete, Guide.ā
āNo! Iām not finished!ā I protested. āI havenāt said what I wanted to say to Rion!ā
āYour job was to guide, nothing more,ā she replied calmly. āYou are part of the system. Your feelings donāt matter.ā
āBut Iā¦ā I wanted to argue, but her voice grew stronger.
āYour task is done. You will return.ā
And before I could do anything, everything faded. I was back in the real world, leaving Rion behind. But the feelings I had developed for him didnāt fade.
---
Back in the real world, I sat in front of my computer, staring at the blank game screen. Rion had won the final battle, but I felt something was missing. My feelings for him still lingered, even though I knew the world we had shared was now forever separate.
But in my heart, I believed one thing: Somehow, someday, I would return to that world. I would meet Rion again. And this time, I would make sure I finished what I had started.

It was a bit confusing trying to talk to you and then all of a sudden you were going by a different name, maybe even a different GENDER, and were talking as if you barely knew him
It turned out you were understandably extremely anxious about revealing your status as a System to him
Though he wasn't overly familiar with OSDD/DID, he went looking for the few available resources that weren't littered with bias or ableist language (no small feat)
After this he decided it would be best to treat each alter like a new person, first asking if they recognized him before introducing himself and explaining his role in the life of the alter(s) he knows
Of course this doesn't diminish his feelings for you in the slightest
If anything he now sees that he must win the affections of every alter (except if they're age regressors/littles/kids of course)
While definitely not the best with kids, Syntax did decide that he could suck it up for your sakes. Through trial and error and lots of questions, he figured out how to act as a proper caretaker for the little alter(s). Though intimidation is his domain, with you all he can't bring himself to be as stern
This has the effect of anyone who scares the System or upsets them being faced with an extra dose of his wrath
Of course he'd never let you see what he does to the offenders, he doesn't want to upset you so badly you form another alter
He never fancied himself a man of romance, but he does occasionally wonder for those alters who are of age if he ought to buy a ring each of them would like or if he should only get one
Months passed since the Guide had been abruptly pulled from the game world. In the real world, she couldn't shake off the memories of Rion and their journey together. Every day, she found herself thinking about himāthe way he fought fiercely against enemies, the moments of quiet camaraderie they shared, and the unspoken bond that grew between them.
Rion, on the other hand, continued his adventures in the game world, victorious but with a lingering sense of loss. He couldn't explain why, but ever since the Guide disappeared, a part of him felt incomplete. He missed her voice guiding him through challenges, her encouragement in times of doubt, and the inexplicable warmth he felt whenever she was near.
One night, as the Guide sat at her computer, staring at the game's login screen, a notification popped upāan update for the game she had transmigrated into. Heart racing, she clicked on it, not knowing what to expect. To her surprise, the update wasnāt just a patch; it was a new expansion that promised enhanced gameplay and new adventures.
Intrigued, she launched the game, half-hoping to find a clue, a trace of Rion. As the game loaded, she found herself back in the familiar landscape where she and Rion had spent countless hours together. But something was differentāthe atmosphere felt charged with anticipation, as if something important was about to happen.
Deep within the game world, Rion also sensed a change. He had been exploring new territories when he came across an ancient artifactāan enchanted mirror rumored to possess the power to connect worlds. Without hesitation, he decided to investigate further, hoping to uncover its secrets.
As fate would have it, the Guide and Rion's paths were about to converge once more. In a hidden corner of the game world, where reality blurred with fantasy, they stood face to face, disbelief and joy mingling in their eyes.
The Guide stared at her computer screen, her heart pounding in her chest. After months of silence, an unexpected update to the game had brought her back to the world where she had once guided Rion. But this time, something was different. The atmosphere felt charged, the world vibrant in a way that made her feel it was waiting for somethingāwaiting for them.
As the game loaded, a flicker on the screen revealed an image she hadnāt expected: Rion. He stood before a large, shimmering mirror within the game world, his eyes scanning the glass as if looking for somethingāor someone. Her breath caught in her throat.
"Rion..." she whispered, her fingers brushing the screen.
At the same moment, Rion's voice echoed through the monitor. āGuide⦠is that you?ā
āYes, itās me,ā she answered softly, her voice trembling with a mix of joy and disbelief.
Their eyes locked through the strange connection of the game, Rionās through the mirror and the Guideās through her screen. The air between them crackled with the energy of emotions left unsaid for too long. They both reached out instinctivelyāRion, placing his hand on the mirrorās surface, and the Guide, pressing her palm against the glass of her monitor.
And then, something incredible happened. The barrier between their worlds began to dissolve. Slowly, their hands moved through the boundariesāRionās hand emerging from the mirror, and the Guideās hand slipping out from her monitor. Their fingers interlocked, the warmth of their touch a surreal, breathtaking reality.
āIām not letting you go again,ā Rion said, his voice firm yet tender, filled with a longing that had been building since the day they were separated.
āNeither am I,ā the Guide replied, her voice trembling as she smiled at him.
In one fluid motion, Rion grasped both of her hands firmly, pulling her towards him. She felt her body move forward, crossing the impossible distance between their worlds. Rionās strong arms caught her as she passed through the monitor, and she emerged on the other side, standing in the game world, face to face with him.
Without a word, Rion wrapped his arms tightly around her, holding her close. The Guide melted into his embrace, her heart swelling with the warmth of finally being with him again. She looked up into his eyes and saw everything she had longed forāhis affection, his relief, and the deep bond they had shared from the beginning. His gaze was filled with love, and for the first time, there were no barriers, no rules keeping them apart.
āIāve missed you,ā he whispered, his voice rough with emotion.
āSo have I,ā she replied, her eyes misting with the weight of everything unsaid.
They didnāt need to say anything more. In that moment, they both leaned in, their lips meeting in a kiss that was soft, warm, and filled with the promise of a new beginning. It was a kiss that sealed their decisionāa vow to stay together, no matter where this world or any other took them.
When they finally pulled away, their foreheads rested against one another, their breath mingling as they stayed in the moment, unwilling to let it go. But they both knewāthis was not the end of their journey. It was the start of something far greater.
āAre you ready?ā Rion asked, his voice full of excitement now.
āWith you? Always,ā she smiled, a sparkle of adventure in her eyes.
Hand in hand, they turned to face the horizon. Together, they would venture into the unknown, no longer just Guide and player, but as partnersābound by love and the memories they had made along the way. Whatever challenges awaited them, they would face them together, ready to embrace every adventure that lay ahead.
And so, with hearts full of hope and joy, they stepped forward, disappearing into the wild, untamed world that awaited their next chapter.
But instead of feeling victorious, my thoughts were filled with **her**āthat voice, my Guide, who had never left my side since the beginning of this journey. Throughout this grueling adventure, she was always there, giving me directions, strategies, and sometimes⦠encouragement. Even when I felt like giving up, her voice always pushed me forward.
The final battle almost cost me my life. The enemy I faced was far stronger than anyone I had ever encountered. I gave everythingāmy strength, my witāto defeat him. When I finally struck the final blow, the world around me fell silent. I was the only one left standing in the battlefield.
I heard her voice for the last time before the final battle, her gentle words saying, "Rion, no matter what happens, I will always be here with you."
But after the battle was over, something felt wrong. **Silence**. My Guide didnāt speak anymore. I waited, hoping to hear her voice again, but there was nothing. A small part of me started to worry.
"Guide?" I called out, hoping for a response, but there was none.
I bit my lip. I never really thought too much about her before. I always assumed she was just part of the gameāa system entity helping me through this harsh world. But now, amidst this silence, I realized something. Her presence had become an essential part of my journey. She wasnāt just a voice in my head. She was someone I had come to rely on. Without her, this world felt... empty.
"Guide!" I shouted louder this time, but still, there was no answer. Only the wind responded, deepening the quiet around me. She was gone. But why? What happened?
---
The days following the final battle felt strange. Even though I had defeated my greatest enemy and survived, the feeling of loss lingered over me. The voice that had always accompanied me in every step was now truly gone. Before, I might have considered her just part of the system, but now I realized how important her presence had been. Not just as a guide, but as someone who quietly gave me strength beyond what I knew.
I started to wonder, who was she really? Why did her voice feel so real? Why was there warmth and care in every piece of advice she gave? Wasnāt she supposed to be just a system? But the more I thought about her, the emptier my heart felt. Something was missing, and I didnāt know how to get it back.
Night after night, I woke up thinking about the possibilities. Maybe she wouldnāt come back. Maybe she was gone for good. But a strong urge inside me wouldnāt let me give up.
One day, I decided to return to the place where it all beganāthe village where I first heard her voice. There, I hoped to find clues or answers. But what I found were only ruins and memories.
"Why did you leave?" I whispered to myself. "Did I do something wrong? Or is this how it's supposed to end?"
I felt an overwhelming sense of loss. No matter how many victories I achieved, without **her**, everything felt hollow. She was the reason I had come this far, and now, without my guide, I felt lost.
---
Even though she disappeared, her voice remained in my memory. Every strategy, every piece of advice, it all stayed in my mind, as if she was still here with me. But I knew, that was just a memory. I could no longer hear her comforting voice, and that made me feel even more empty.
However, there was something she said to me before the final battle that kept echoing in my thoughts: āNo matter what happens, I will always be here with you.ā
Was that just a simple phrase? Or was there more to it? I wasnāt sure. But I decided on one thing: I would not give up. If there was a way to find her again, I would find it.
Even if I had to embark on a journey longer and harder than any I had ever taken before, I would find the answer. Somehow, someday, I would meet **my Guide** again. And when that time came, I would make sure to say what I had never been able to say before.
"Thank you... and I need you."
---
Rion stared at the horizon, glowing red in the distance. His adventure was far from over. Although the challenges of the game had ended, his greatest struggle had just begun: finding the missing Guide, the voice that had quietly become more than just an entity in his head.
