So I was looking at concept art after the last Rwby Beyond episode aired and I noticed something. Wouldn’t the rug in the kitchen be a great place to conceal a trap door that could potentially hide a certain relic? With recent speculation of the relic being in Patch with Tai looking after it, I went to the art book.
When you look at the concept art the rug is on a angle to the side which coincidentally is where Port fell.
I Also I went back to the volume 5 episode family and was wondering, what if Port putting his leg on the table and then falling was a nod to where the relic of choice could be.
What if Port tripped on the handle of a trap door that is hidden by the rug.
I then rewatched the scene a few more times and noticed even more things
It looks as if he’s caught himself on something and then tripped. He then realises that he could of jeopardised the entry point of the relic of choices' location. Also he is staring at this spot in particular when he realises Yang is in the room. I find all of this really interesting.
This could be me reading too much into it, however something in me sees something significant about this location in particular.
It would certainly explain why he’s not in vacuo and this is his 'assignment’.
