you’re telling me NOTHING significant enough to show in-scene happened there + they didn’t gain a new understanding of each other’s povs even though working together with dangerous chemicals basically demands workable communication + cooperation?
you’re telling me they weren’t taking shots at each other’s daddy issues + privileges until quietly realizing they understand each other more than they thought (i mean they’re wearing the same face for saint’s sake) and begrudgingly realizing it’s kind of nice having someone their age with a similar skillset?
you’re telling me kuwei wasn’t secretly relieved wylan didn’t have pages upon pages of notes written in kerch, a language that uses a different script than he’s used to reading? that wylan wasn’t happy that both of them stumble over the kerch word for a chemical from time to time? that they weren’t both pushing back on each other’s ideas but it was clear they both respected when the other was genuinely correct about the chemistry? that they weren’t both a little comforted by the presence of someone else who doesn’t quite feel like they belong to the barrel + the life they’ve been forced into?
