I have never heard Taylor McNee speak before I reblogged that post about her youtube channel and

She just uses her normal speaking voice for Penny. That’s actually surprising, for some reason.

On the RWBY GalaxyCon panel that they just had, when they were talking about their characters’ favorite foods, Taylor said that basically every food that Penny now tries instantly becomes her new favorite and so if you’ll excuse me I’m now obsessing over the thought of Penny at a Vacuan buffet, where she tries to eat every food she can.
