Packet pick up and post race!! It was such a fun weekend and such a fun race! I just did the ten mile instead of the full marathon this year. It was exactly what I needed to remind myself how much I love running. I think next year will be the marathon again 💕

Just having a little medal ceremony🏅in my kitchen this morning. Nothing unusual about that all (especially in 2020 🤪) - Completed the 10K yesterday and the 5K this morning on the treadmill, making me the recipient of that fancy TC 10k/5k medal and also making me 2/3 of the way done with the #tcmarathon #ultraloonychallenge. While that wasn’t my fastest ever 5K, that’s the first time I’ve ever busted out a 5K on the treadmill completely in the 8s without fearing I would die in the middle. Large dog: the WORST at post-run selfies. 🐕🤷‍♀️ I’m doing the #tcmarathon #ultraloonychallenge virtually, and this morning’s run was my version of the TC 10k. Specifically, it was the version where large dog finally got to go running after weeks of not being able to and he kept pulling me like a sled dog all over the road. 🙄 Anyhoo, managed to keep the run nice and easy—still have a 5k and a marathon (!) to do in the next few days. Ultra loony, indeed. My #medalmonday: When even the people behind you look disappointed in your choice of race finish photo pose.... - This #chicagomarathon wasn’t my fastest, but it was a huge victory because I ran the whole 26.2—didn’t walk once, even though that was the plan at the outset seeing as I ran the #tcmarathon last weekend. For some reason I kept pushing myself to run a few more miles...and then a few more...and a few more...until I realized I should just run the whole damn thing. Not every race goal needs to be a time goal. - This race was, as usual, amazing and a world-class experience. The volunteers were awesome, and even the police were cheering us on the whole time. And the atmosphere is always one of inclusiveness and celebration of the run.
