I recently finished by reread of Acowar, and... I tried to be charitable towards Feyre but she is so insufferable. She did not at all think about the repercussions of her actions in the Spring Court. Everything was pettiness towards Tamlin and not productive towards the war effort. She treated Lucien like shit, and was a bad friend to him, whom has been in her corner since day one! I liked aspects of this book but Feyre is not one of them. Her and Rhys are so annoying!
OMG THANK YOU (also ps is that really your new hair omg it looks so good, your whole icon pic 😍)
For real, it has taken me a while to be able to articulate why her actions towards Lucien in the Spring Court made me so mad, but basically: she knew Tamlin was abusive, she knew he had a temper, she knew he would take it to a physical place, but she still intentionally, deliberately decided to make him angry and make him turn that anger on Lucien. Lucien, who was also being emotionally abused by Tamlin and whom was also sexually assaulted by Ianthe because his “friend” asked him to be.
THE FUCK.
I can’t remember if she knew about the Ianthe thing, but she did know about the rest. Her anger towards Tamlin was about them, and even if she decided to emotionally manipulate him for larger political gains that’s fine. But there’s just something gross about exploiting your abusive relationship to hurt other people.
There was a ton of pettiness and anger. Which idk, maybe she’s entitled to anger but the world does not turn on her pettiness. Becoming powerful doesn’t necessarily mean saying “fuck everyone else except people I like” but that’s... kinda what she did.
Overall I do think that Feyre is motivated by kindness and helping other people and I do like her in general, but in acowar she was motivated by anger and not in a productive way? It made her a different person.
