Lore nobody asked for, Sam and Aneska grew up in this sort of home; estate houses always kind of scared me growing up, they seem so vast and empty and isolated, compared to the tight knit villages and towns I grew up in around them. It's hard to imagine living in one. I think it would be a major cause why Sam becomes who he does, spending his formative years essentially isolated like that.

Plural word of unknown derivation used in the Old Testament to denote the primitive Semitic house-gods whose cult had been handed down to historical times from the earlier period of nomadic wanderings. The translation of the term "teraphim" by the Greek versions, as well as its use in the Scriptures, gives an excellent idea of the nature of these symbols.
