So one of the things I’m going to have to really learn as a trainer (outside of cleaning up my language) is that some people are just going to fail.  No amount of note taking, open book options, retesting, or telling them point blank ‘this is super important for the test you are about to take hint hint, nudge nuge’ will make them pass. 

Conversely, I hate when I try to teach someone in class and can tell from the get-go that they are 100% no suited for the job at all and have exactly zero common sense to help them along - but somehow they pass tests.  I can only watch them go to the floor and try to stay hopeful that they just need a bit of time and will do better.

dr ayo, have any coursers had any sort of nervous breakdowns? i know that coursers are... coursers, but theyre still almost identical to humans, right? and breakdowns are often caused by severe overwork and sleep deprivation and things like that. i just think itd be embarrassing to find out that one of your coursers started sobbing in the middle of an assignment for seemingly no reason. and maybe you could be a little less harsh on your coursers in order to avoid that from happening?

“Good question!” He sits back and gets ready for a long response. It wasn’t like he had not explained this before.

“Firstly, sleep is not really something the courser units require, they can work nonstop until they are destroyed beyond repair. That’s never been a worry of mine for that reason. Of course that doesn’t mean they’re not permitted sleep as the technology that allows them to go without resting is a bit flawed and still being worked on currently. To keep their minds fresh it is good to get an hour or two in at the least.” He begins.

“Secondly, Coursers are occasionally observed exhibiting strange responses to random stimulus and upon realizing that they must be fixed are returned to courser training to fix the problems present within them so they can return to their normal duties. If that doesn’t yield any promising results they’re reset and sent off to do something they're more suited to do.” He continues.

“Thirdly, I am not harsh. I think the word you are looking for is stern, I’m something like a prewar military general at times more than anything else. Its the most effective way to speak when working with their type.”

So as soon as everything is up and live for the Stucky Big Bang, Im going to start that fic about the other winter soldiers from civil war that I promised.
