for cowboy dinluke: "aw fuck some big fucking bug/snake disappered into my bedroll and im not fucking going NEAR it let me into yours"
Luke set up Two and Crest’s small paddock, winding the thin material around the thin stakes and pounding them into the dusty soil, while Din scrambled together enough material for a fire. Luke dropped into the dirt next to where he was crouched and rubbed a dirty hand over his face.
“They’re good to go. They’ve got hay and should have enough grazing for tonight in there.” Luke said quietly. “How’s this?”
“Pretty bad.” Din answered. “Not a lot of stuff here to burn.” He had a meager pile of dried roots and sticks and dry bark. He lit his lighter, and it sparked over the bark, singeing a hole in it. A few sparks leapt up, lighting upon some of the tinder. Small flames started to curl forward. Din shifted, reaching for more of the material to put on the fire.
“I don’t think this is going to last long.” Luke tried to hold himself back from laughing. But Din heard it in his voice, turning to look at him. Luke was biting lips to keep himself from smiling.
“You can laugh.” Din groused. And Luke did.
“It’s not you, darling. I know you’re trying to be helpful. But it’s not worth it here.”
“I was just trying to make sure we didn’t eat cold chili.” Din said.
“I know. And I appreciate that, but it’s not a big deal.” Luke pressed a kiss to his temple. “Thank you.”
Din passed him an opened can of chili, and Luke dug into it like it was a high quality meal. Din ate his cold chili with significantly less gusto, but it was food and he was hungry. They ate in silence. He and Luke had been out riding all day, checking the very perimeter of the ranch. This corner was quiet and desolate. Din wasn’t even sure if the cattle came out this far.
Luke crushed the cans neatly under his boot, putting the can in one of his saddlebags with the rest of their trash. Din undid their bedrolls, setting them up near the darkened spot of earth where his tiny fire had been.
He settled down onto his bedroll, stretching out his legs. Luke was giving Two a few treats, but came over when he was done. Instead of sitting on his own bedroll, Luke laid down, resting his head on Din’s thigh. Din patted his head gently.
“It’s a gorgeous sunset.” Luke said softly. It was - the sky was pink and a vibrant orange, everything glowing like it was on fire. They watched the sun set, until the colors faded into dusty blues and greys, and stars began appearing.
Out of the corner of his eye in the dim light, Din saw something move towards Luke’s bedroll. Luke saw it too, sitting up quickly. “What the hell was that?” Luke said.
“I don’t know.”
“Is whatever in my bag?” Luke’s voice was rising. “Shit.”
He gently nudged his bag with his foot, very lightly tapping it. It moved.
“Just dump it out.” Din said.
“I don’t know what’s in there! No!”
The roll moved again. Din and Luke both jumped.
“Do you want to dump it out?” Luke asked.
Din bit his lip. “Not really.”
“You ass.”
Din chuckled. “Sorry. I’m not messing with it either.”
Luke rolled his eyes. “I can be a big boy about this.” He pointedly ignored Din’s surprised shout of laughter. He stood up and approached his bag slowly. He picked up the bottom part, and something inside moved. Luke leapt back. “Nope. Nope. I’m not fucking with it.” He dragged the bedroll farther away from Din’s bedroll and left it there.
“What, are you going to sleep without a blanket? It’s too cold for that at night.”
“Are you going to get whatever that is out of my bedroll?”
“I don’t want to mess with it either!”
“Yeah.” Luke sassed. “Can I sleep in your bedroll?”
As he asked, he was already about to climb into Din’s bedroll. “Sure, I guess.” Din said, groaning when Luke accidentally kneed him.
“I think it’s a snake.” Luke said when he was finally done moving.
“I was not about to fuck with it either.” Din said. “That’s a problem for tomorrow us.”
“Mmm. Sounds good.” Luke kissed Din’s shoulder. Din shifted, kissing the top of Luke’s head. “Hopefully it leaves during the night.”
There are just a lot of college moods you can’t put on instagram or Facebook
Like, having just taken my Econ exam, I’ve decided to forego a career in policy and just become a cryptid scaring the shit out of people in the woods
I can’t put that on Instagram. My mom will worry. She’ll ask if I’m okay and think I failed an exam. “You can always call and talk to me!” she’ll say. I don’t want to talk, mom, I want to go be feral in the woods and forget the existence of social constructs and societal obligations for a while before I go back to being a high-achieving ball of anxiety as usual
Meanwhile, I post the same shit to tumblr and a concerning amount of people like or reblog it or reply “big mood.” No one’s fussing like I’m having a breakdown and spouting incomprehensible nonsense. Which is basically why i’m never going to leave tumblr until they hunt me down and hoist me out of the void themselves
OMG Imma need to people to stop attacking Gina Rodriguez on Twitter. Like now. She has done nothing wrong, and I swear if you people are attacking her because she said go see the latest Mark Whalberg movie imma scream.
Waiting for the oblivious to notice you are pissed at them all the while they contact you as if they never did anything wtong. Here's a simple fucking checklist for those I'm ignoring. 1). Have I done anything messed up lately? 2). Have I thought about how my actions effect others? 3). Have I considered I'm not always in the right? 4). Have I tried saying sorry?
I am reposting this because it seems as though some people think I am being too "harsh".
Elementary is a load of horse shit. If you like it, I hope you hit your damn head on a brick because I assume you would have to in order to subject yourself to watching that mindless crap of a TV show. It is not Sherlock, it is poo. Okay? Thank you.
THIS IS MY BLOG. I POST WHAT I WANT AND WHEN I WANT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, SUCK A COCK.
