OF BLOOD AND WIRES
What a loathsome sound; the sound of machinery turning in on itself, computers exchanging encrypted words of the unknown. This too she had grown used to. Yet, as the days passed, as the machines clattered against one another and the computers chanted their rituals, she was reminded of everything she once was and will never be again.
Day by day, data-laced words become more comprehensible. Nadia began to understand why the machines partook in this never ending battle. Olympus made them this way, just as they had made her this way. Now, Nadia was no different from the machines and computers.
Nadia wondered, do the machines and computers feel the same way as she did? She pondered if they too sit in stagnant solitude, watching the world pass them by, wanting to reach out and greet the men and women that stared down at them everyday. Nadia had the privilege of experiencing the world before the Automaton was conceived, Nadia drank the riches of mortality. Whilst now, combined as one, the Automaton was cursed, knowing that as long as the machines turned their cogs, she too would turn, immortally, with them.
an illustration i drew in a livestream last night, accompanied by a drabble that's been rotating in my mind for a while. nadia's story is rooted in digital transhumanism and the emotions-- or lack thereof-- that accompany technological enhancement. one day i'll get around to a full short story about nadia and her tragedy...
This collaboration will be.... Mutually beneficial.

I not used to technology like this. Unnatural.
Unnatural as it may be, it allows us to understand you. Growls are far less effective for a civilized meeting

SILENCE!

Welcome!
This is a ask/oc blog run by @adeafad for three (maybe 6 :3) characters!
The employee! -tired and powerful, she wields a stop sign with deadly strength, attacking anything that threatens her and her crew.
The creator! -childish and naive, they constantly get themself in dangerous scenarios for views, before struggling to get out of said scenarios.
The automaton! -robotic and blank, it collects what it needs to. Certain questions make it buzz red before it answers neutrally.
Rules!!
-No nsfw!! The mod is a minor and doesn't want to deal with that. Suggestive will be case by case.
-No godmodding! There are powerful beings here who will not let some upstart do something that could threaten them.
-RP and asks are welcome!
-If i need to I'll add more rules

"Good morning, dears, there's so many of you just here alone. I must thank you for being so welcoming to me. It's lovely to be in the presence of all of those here." - Mr. Neville Linton, @h3smoremyselfthaniam
"It's a pleasure, dear! It's always a delight to meet new residents. Miss Manni clapped her hands together excitedly, quickly escorting the new hunter to a chair to rest for a while. "Although, I suppose in our case, it would be possible future teammates, yes? Huhuhu! How exciting is that notion?"
"I do suppose I should introduce myself though. My name is Miss Manni! I'm known as the Living Mannequin. Quite the literal title in my case I'm afraid." She extended a hand gracefully to shake. Waiting for the other patiently before moving forward. "Please don't hesitate to rely on me in games or ask me for assistance if needed. I assure you I am a lot tougher than how I may look Huhu~!"

Eleanor (´⬬_⬬`)< :
"Hello. It's nice to meet you." Eleanor gave a small robotic wave. Pausing as they studied the appearance of the new hunter, giving a small shrug to themselves as they continued talking. "The manor is a strange place. I hope you're able to get accustomed to it fairly well."
The automaton paused for a long moment, the mechanical clockwork silencing as her head flopped down. The small squeaks of a small mouse only being heard before the hunter jerked their head back up, clockwork resetting. "I am curious though. You seem to be a fairly dapper gentleman. Have you gotten to go to any nice ballets?"

Shadowed Man /++ ◡ ++\ :
"Are you truly alone in a humble abode such as this? Eyes and ears lurk everywhere." The shadow let out a small laugh, amused but still seeming to be listening to the new hunter curiously. "I will pass the sentiment to you as well. The presence of a new hunter unlocks many intriguing possibilities here."
"I hope you can live up to one or two of them. These two were already such disappointments." They let out a dramatic sigh, rubbing his temple. "Considering your status of being new, I'll give you the generosity of knowing I can be quite the strong ally both within and out of matches if you can play your cards right. Do you like to gamble?"
Note: Sorry for being gone for so long, I hope to get back to writing requests soon. In the meantime, enjoy this little list that I’ve whipped up!
Word Count: N/A.
Warnings: None.
Inkwell Isle One
The Root Pack - Sal keeps it simple and sticks to Dear and Darlin’, Ollie mostly calls them Sweet Pea (and sometimes Pumpkin), and Chauncey usually goes with either Babe or Sweetheart.
Goopy Le Grande - He’s all about boosting his darling’s confidence and making them feel good about themselves, so he most often calls them Beautiful/Handsome, Gorgeous and Angel Face.
Hilda Berg - She doesn’t really bother with pet names, though she does like to call them Starlight sometimes, even though it flusters her a little. She also calls them Moonshine on occasion because she thinks it’s hilarious.
Cagney Carnation - For a while, the closest thing he has to a pet name is Pest, mainly because it takes him a long time to warm up to his darling. He eventually drops it though, once his obsession starts to blossom, and replaces it with Sunshine. He uses it very rarely but his tone is always soft when he does.
Ribby and Croaks - Croaks, being the older and more mature of the two, keeps it classy and calls his darling things such as Sweetheart and Angel. Ribby, meanwhile, prefers to call them more joking pet names, like Lollihops and Greeny.
Inkwell Isle Two
Baroness Von Bon Bon - She calls her darling just about anything as long as it’s related to sweets or baked goods. Gumdrop, Baby Cakes, Sugarplum, Puddin’ and Sweetheart are just a few of the many, many pet names she has for them.
Beppi the Clown - He doesn’t take pet names too seriously, so his are more on the joking side, and they usually reference something about his darling. Are they short? Shortstack. Are they an artist? Picasso. Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? Lil’ Cuddler.
Djimmi the Great - Given that he’s never been in a relationship before, it takes him a while to settle on a pet name. For a while, he sticks to the more typical ones like Dear, Honey and Darling, before finally settling on Hobi (meaning “My love” in Arabic).
Grim Matchstick - He’s in a similar situation as Djimmi, except he doesn’t call them anything but their name for a while. It takes some time but eventually, he begins calling them Precious and My Treasure, which he quickly comes to love.
Wally Warbles - He’s another one that doesn’t take pet names too seriously, so he ends up calling his darling Lovebird for a while, mainly in jest. Over time, though, he grows fond of it and begins using it earnestly.
Inkwell Isle Three
Rumor Honeybottoms - Honey is her go-to pet name, though she also uses Honeybee, Honeybun and Beeutiful on occasion. Sugar is reserved only for when she’s angry with her darling, as evidenced by the subtly threatening tone in her voice whenever she calls them that.
Captain Brineybeard - Fittingly, his most common pet name for them is Darlin’. He also uses Me Pearl but only in private, typically when he’s winding down from a long day and just wants to relax with his darling.
Sally Stageplay - She actually prefers couples pet names, which usually reference some iconic pair from literature. Some examples would be her calling her darling My Lancelot, or referring to them as The Darcy to my Lizzy.
Werner Werman - He doesn’t see the point of pet names, and likely won’t even use one for his darling unless they ask him to. As for the pet names themselves, he thinks most of them sound silly, though he does have a certain fondness for Kleine Maus (meaning “Little mouse” in German).
Dr. Kahl - He has no interest in using a pet name, believing that it serves no purpose, which is due to his lack of romantic experience. However, if his darling asks him to use one, he’ll settle for Dear, even though it sounds horribly unnatural coming from him.
The Automaton - Much like his father figure, he also has no romantic experience. However, unlike him, he’s actually quite eager to use a pet name for his darling. Because of his tendency to mimic Dr. Kahl, he ends up calling them Dear for a while, before eventually putting his own spin on it and changing it to Dearest.
Cala Maria - She most often calls them Little Cutie, because there’s a good chance they’re smaller than her and she finds that adorable. She may also call them Goldie or Guppy if she’s feeling playful.
The Blind Specter - He doesn’t use any pet name for a while, simply because he can’t think of any he likes or thinks fit his darling. Eventually, though, he comes up with My Boo, and begins using it almost as much as their actual name because he finds it funny.
Inkwell Hell
King Dice - He typically calls them either Doll or Dolly, sometimes with “little” tacked on at the front. Darlin’ is also one he uses occasionally, though it’s in the same situation as Rumor’s Sugar.
The Devil - He uses Pet and Little One most often, mainly as a way to remind them of how weak they are compared to him. However, he does have at least one pet name he uses in earnest, and that’s My Angel.
Inkwell Isle Four
Glumstone the Giant - He doesn’t care much for pet names, and won’t even use one for the longest time. However, as the two grow closer and they manage to thaw his cold heart, he begins calling them Little Doll, albeit very rarely.
Charlie Left Legs and Madcap Maddie - Charlie tends to call them Babe and Doll, while Maddie often uses Cutie and Snookums. Both of them also call them Lovebug, with Maddie being the one who uses it more often.
Sidney the Snout - He’s not much of a pet name person, so he tends to use pet names he doesn’t take seriously, such as Sweetcheeks or Cutiepie, typically in a joking manner. At some point, he ends up calling them Sweetheart, and it not only sticks, but also leaves him uncharacteristically flustered.
Hardtop Harold - Being a domestic type at heart, he uses the more classic pet names such as Dear, Love, and his favourite, Honey. Similarly to Rumor and King Dice, Dearest is only used when he wants to subtly let them know that they’ve angered him.
Mortimer Freeze - He has a very specific and romanticised view of his darling, regardless of what they’re actually like, so he typically calls them delicate things such as Snowdrop and Snowflake.
Esther Winchester - Much like Sal and Brineybeard, she also calls them Darlin’, but puts her own, unique spin on it. Words such as “little”, “pretty”, “sweet”, and “precious” are usually tacked on at the front, with Little Darlin’ being her favourite.
Chef Saltbaker - He has called his darling every single food-based pet name under the sun at some point or another, although his favourite (and most commonly used) is Sugar Cube. He may also call them Songbird if they like to sing along with him while he bakes.
Been working to complete as many Geodes as I could all August, and I’ve hit 3 full pages of my beloved beans. (3 pages and one row to be exact!)
They all have lore, are G1, and have custom accents. I’m proud of my rocks. If anyone’s curious, a colour-coded list of each of their names and professions can be found in Amethyst’s bio here.
THE AUTOMATON 2.0
Nadia knew what she had signed up for. She had killed before and she would kill again. Three years ago, when she had volunteered as a link for Olympus Industries' first experimental biological weapon. For many years, Nadia knew that was all that she ever was: a weapon. Yet when crimson pools fell at her newfound claws, when the taste of ichor lingered on her tongue… it was not the same. It will never be the same again. She is no longer human, no longer a monster, perhaps she was never either.
( character is a woman, she/her ! )
i’ve been wanting to return to my character nadia (aka the automaton) for quite some time now. as i move forward with my career as a creature artist, i’ve been expanding my skills with portfolio projects such as this one! the goal of this redesign was to not only improve upon an existing concept but to additionally flesh her out for the short story i'm writing of the same name: "the automaton".
overall, very proud of the results of this piece, i learned a lot from it and i'm so excited to apply what i've learned moving forward. and rejoice now that one of my favorite OCs finally has a definitive design XD
