i forgot for a second that charlie kirk existed and i was so so confused reading about some awful homophobic and racist acts that James Tiberius Kirk would never commit

We put this show called "The Bisexual" in our Hulu list a year ago because the title is... so.... 😂. The cover image shows a woman's face staring wistfully at the camera while laying her head on someone else. The title and image gave us the impression that this was going to be some gross, male gaze-y "man with a bisexual girlfriend who causes drama" kind of show and I guess we never bothered to look up what it was about. We've just been making fun of it for like a year now or something. We figured it might be fun to watch when we're looking for something ridiculous to hoot and jeer at.

But you know what? It is nothing like we expected, and we're enjoying it a lot.

The plot: A lesbian couple goes "on a break" when one asks the other to marry her, and she's not sure she wants to say yes. The uncertain one moves out for a few months and decides to give men a try. Meanwhile, her girlfriend is living a life of her own.

I'm only 2 eps in, but so far, the show centers the queer characters and experiences, portraying the main character as a tourist in the straight world.

Total opposite of what we expected and it's enjoyable so far.

I have become heartbreakingly attached to a show after watching 3 episodes, only to realize there is only 1 season with 6 episodes total :(
