I’m gonna do properly shaded version of the top one, but I wanted to leave this short comic simple. The birth of Mon-chan from my Stringmaster fic. This scene may appear in the actual fic as a flashback, but I wanted to draw it.
....He’s trying, but Sensei’s still not great about his choice of words.
more stuff I’ve drawn for this au:
Sensei No / Personal space Dabi / Troll dad / Dabi gif / The main cast / Oh look a background / The piece that started it all
So. I wanted to do kinda of a thing where the String connects through all four pieces, starting from AFO, and ending with Tomura. I gotta admit, I struggled with drawing Kurogiri, so I gave up and used his design ref piece for this OTL
Today just wasn’t a “draw a magic robot” day. At least Dabi’s profile is one of my favorites I’ve ever drawn. I struggle with those a lot.
But yeah, the four main characters from The Stringmaster.
I also have posted alternate versions of AFO and Tomura separately
These took longer than they should have ugh. Designs for the Steampunk AU story thingy I’ve been considering on writing. Alchemist Dabi, the Stringmaster pupil Tomura, a sentient robot Kurogiri (No hero kids were killed in making of this one) and Stringmaster AFO
......Gotta say, drawing AFO as a not-a-rotten-potato-face is hard because figuring out his hair and eyes is a bit of a challenge. (I don’t even know what his actual eye-color is, I just tend to make them red because his quirk has a reddish aura) Generally from what I’ve seen in the fandom, his hair tends to be drawn as “Adult Evil Deku” style, as I’d call it. I think the canonical one’s different from that tho. Whatever, I didn’t really draw FS Hisashi’s hair like the canonical do either.
Anyway, more notes about these designs below the cut:
Tomura from Stringmaster
Figuring out the BG was tricky. Namely because I didn’t set to make a scene of any kind to begin with, just some themed background that would fit together with the character portrait themes. Also decided to go for a more cell shading style with this series, just to practice it some more.
Next one will probs be Violinist Tomura
Shigadabiweek day 6: Distance
I loved the Steampunk designs I made so much that I wanted to shoehorn them into this piece too. Tomura’s holding some sorta tool or something, IDK. Also made this kinda look like a comic panel, except I had no ideas for a BG as usual.
....This is still giving me vague fic idea vibes
@shigadabiweek
He tries, but he’s terrible at setting boundaries. Poor Kurogiri is babysitting two mischievous kids who think committing crimes is fun past time. He needs a vacation, or two.
The shitpost I made this morning was foreshadowing for this disaster. It’s actually inspired by something Tomura’s gonna do in the next chapter of the fic haha. Also HOW did I make this version of AFO’s hair even harder to draw than Hisashi’s from FS??? WTF brain
At least this version won’t use Tomura as a tool and actually sees him as his child
Shigadabiweek day 5: Steampunk
....Knowing me I might edit this later on, but I just wanted to post it now. Gotta say, there was this one post talking about how you sometimes get vague story ideas based purely on an aesthetic of some art piece or so.
This is a post like that lmao
