What if the worlds that he wanted to merge were actually, Camazots and the real one?

It would track that everything then in the real world would become inconsistent and disorienting like it did.

There is no right side up. There is no Abyss. It’s Hawkins, the Upsidedown (which is the bridge between), and Camazots.

If you’ve ever seen the anime movie Paprika, think of it like that.

This could totally be me reaching but oh well, I'm just gonna leave that there.

Before season 5 comes out, id just like to announce that i am 100% a “Will Byers created the upsidedown as a coping mechanism when he was little” truther (or at least a version of the upsidedown).

That's why he can sense Vecna cause he was chilling out in Will’s domain, lol.

And with the Never-ending story references it makes sense.

Could have potentially been escaping to some alt dimension to get away from Lonnie. Defiantly uses drawing and D&D to do that, that’s why all the big bads are similar to D&D characters/villain's (like doodle-bob LMAO). I don’t think he new what he was doing and he probably just interrupted it all as daydreams or actual dreams. I think the version of the upsidedown that we generally see is stuck on the day he disappeared because Vecna triggered something in him that freaked him out so bad he just went *bink* and ended up creating/getting stuck in this messed up version of Hawkins.

I’m not super hopeful that this is the case, even though i think it would be really cool. Either way i just want him to be happy and for his storyline to have some sort or resolution instead of getting traumatized every season, and everyone moving on super quick. 

(side note: would also appreciate Eleven being able to heal without all of this superhero shit following her around, she deserves a normal life)
