Hello Hello! I made these Lavender cookies the other day (in spirit of the royal wedding and wanting to be cute and festive) and I figured all you guys would LOVE these, especially if you are someone who enjoys a good springy recipe! These are also perfect for Spirit and dream work, and alot of Protection type spells, and on top of this lavender is kinda known for having anti-inflammitory properties so hey maybe it’ll help your skin! 🌿💜
♡ 1 cup of softened butter
♡ 1 egg, slighty beatened, and room temperature
♡ 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
♡ 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
♡ 1 tablespoon of organic flour
♡ Optional: 1/2 teaspoon of Lemon flavoring or extract
(^^totally reccomend adding this, it helps bring all the flavors forward!!)
♡ Your oven should be on 300 degrees F, Which I think is about 150 degrees C, But definetly check just to make sure!!
1) Cream the butter in a nice, medium sized bowl
♡(I’d reccomend using a hand or stand mixer, but you can definently do this by hand, it may take a bit longer)
2) After your butter looking a bit like cake frosting, add your sugar and continue mixing them until they’re completly combined
3) Add in the slightly beaten egg until combined
♡(Make sure you just beat it enough for it to seperate the yolk, you definently dont want to it to be overbeaten, as it may fluff up and the texture will be a off!! Also super important it isn’t fridge-cold, and is room temperature, this can also mess up the texture)
4) Add in the lemon flavoring if you’re wanting it, definently not necessary, but is really good if you do!!
5) Add all your dry ingredients together (the salt, baking powder, and flour) in a seperate bowl until they’re combined thoroughly
6) Add this dry mixture in slowly with the butter/sugar/egg/lemon mix, do as much as you can with the stand/hand mixer, and if you can do all of it easily without the mixer giving out, you should!
7) Fold in the lavender buds, you can put all these into the completed mixture at one time, just until they seem to be evenly dispersed
♡If you have trouble finding these at the grocery store, I’d check the closest natural or organic store, I’ll also leave them Here if you’d like to order them offline!! I ran into problems finding them, and it may be because of the area im in, but I finally found them in a Fresh Market!!
♡The mixture at this point should be the consistency of a thicker cake batter, and not as thick as the general cookie dough would be, these are super light cookies, so the batter is pretty thin for cookies!!
8) Bake them for 8-10 minutes, Until they’re slighly golden, it should make around 24 cookies! Make sure they are spread out about 2 inches apart, they do spread alot so if they end up running into one another you can just cut them into squares like I did!!
