Haven't even started and AJ is MIA. Wonderful. Sam's confusion as he comes on stage, trying to figure out where AJ is, Tom and Luke noticing shortly after, its so funny.

Add Penelope to the list of Iconic Luke Womanning characters immediately!! (I'm a little sad she wasn't the one who killed her husband after he left her tied up like that.) I just know she'd get along with Gemma (TEOTHV) and Arthur's mum (TGOTAT).

"Why have you strapped me facing away from the audience? I'm doing my best emotional overacting and they can't see shit. I thought you did a drama degree, Henry!"

AJ really plays characters who think they're in the right so fucking well. Henry (Terrence) reminds me a little of (ironically) Henry from Never Give Annabelle a Gun. Hell, when Penelope suggested she kill him to the children, I thought that she would end up siding with the children because of what he did to her. (Great fanfic idea right there)

They make us think the "romance" part of this horror romance is going to be Henry and Penelope, but the true romance is Hans and his wife (Old Lady Margaery perhaps??)

Hans, oh Hans. He's just sharing his brooms with the man over there™, loves his wife, loves her cooking, and roots for Henry's wife's to make it out of the house. He's so silly. Not even death can stop his need to sweep.

So many silly, forth-wall-breakingish moments. Mention of someone's drama degree, poking fun at AJ for not knowing something, the "parrot", Luke trying desperately to make sense of AJ's timeline, stealing AJ's jacket (and money), Tom randomly including someone from the audience, fucking up each other's stagecraft, we truly had it all.

Evil creature Sam, Tom & AJ!! All absolutely terrifying in their own way. The way Sam changes his voice, Tom's mannerisms, AJ's expression, all amazingly horrifying.

"How long do we have to catch you? 'Cause we don't die." "We try!" "We try so hard, but we just can't. We get cold, and we get hungry, but we don't die." ... "That was a very dark thing for us to say." "It's a horror romance, and I'm leaning into one side of it more than the other one."

Oh my God Sam's creepy singing!! It does so fucking much for the mood!! Sam's first scene as The Children in general, man. Between his creepy child, AJ's cryptic warnings and Luke's realistic fear/confusing - absolutely amazing.

The change of Penelope and Henry's dynamics. Go from so in love (honeymoon phase vibes) to Penelope slowly realizing there's so much Henry hasn't told her, so amazing. Luke and AJ killed it, truly.

"You played a game with them?" "Yes, Henry, because you left me chained to a poleeee!"

They really nailed the horror vibes with this one!!! Truly amazing and I don't blame people who say it's a new favorite for them. Definitely up there for me aswell.

i have a question for anyone that believes in/worships any gods, higher powers, or external beings. as an atheist with little to no firsthand experience in religion

how do you conceptualize these beings? are they more literal or more symbolic to you? like what does that all look like for you

i want to look into doing deity work because it seems interesting and could possibly provide me with guidance/help when i need some, but i really find a hard time believing in any gods in what i assume is the traditional sense.

I hope i don't sound disrespectful these are jsut my genuine thoughts: i think that the existence of gods in the way i see them portrayed just doesn't make sense (entirely external beings with control over the world and are above us). If any belief, i think i find myself subscribing most to the idea of universal consciousness (we are all connected/ultimately one in the same, plus the whole comparison to being different waves in the ocean you know the one). Therefore i feel like if there are gods/deities out there, they are only extensions of us and we are extensions of them, and they only exist and have influence over the world because we created them through shared belief/worship and we give them their power. I think it makes more sense for them to simply be humanity's way of categorizing different parts of life as well as being tools of self reflection or something IDK. Like i think they probably do have some level of cognitive autonomy and we can still communicate with them but ultimately they are just extensions of us, and they would cease to exist if we stopped believing in them.

Does there exist a belief system/religion like this? like i don't see it being exactly theistic, so maybe it's just some sort of atheistic belief system but with more to it than what's normally seen as atheistic? i don't knowwwww

Lore Bits & Pieces: Orienne and Enneiro (and Ronanor and Lyra)

The twins were an accident in the sense that they were intended to be a singleton birth paired with a pseudotwin, Ronanor, but that particular pregnancy turned out to be identical twins due to sheer dumb luck. Some members of the family were happier about this than others.

Nobody's sure which one of the twins was born first, because they weren't named until Ronanor was born a couple weeks after the twins were born, and nobody in the family kept good enough track of which one was which before they had names.

They are mirror image twins, the result of an embryo splitting later than the normal timing, meaning their physical characteristics are chiral inverses of each other's.

They, like Aroen and Aonira, are intersex. Unlike Aroen and Aoni, who have AIS, the twins have Klinefelter syndrome, a relatively common intersex variation in which an individual has XXY sex chromosomes, though of course the family lacks the knowledge of genetics to be able to identify the twins as such.

Ari, with the support of Orin and Niro, did her best to prevent the twins from having any significant contact (especially unsupervised contact) with Ronanor for the first ~18 years of Rona's life, because she had her own designs on Rona. This did not stop Rona and the twins from being hopelessly infatuated with each other by the time they were teenagers.

The twins think of themselves as a singular being in two bodies, and the family generally treats them as such. It is unusual for most members of the family to strongly differentiate between the two of them; what one twin does or says might as well be attributed to the other as well.

They tend to use first person plural pronouns ("we", "us") when speaking of themselves.

Orie and Eiro have some shared sensation: an echo of any touch, temperature, and pain felt by one twin is felt by the other.

Eiro is chattier and more openly friendly, especially to outsiders, while Orie is reserved and quiet around all but those he trusts most.

During the period of time in their teen years when they were kept from contact with Ronanor, the twins acted out, earning a reputation within the family for bad, risky behavior. The worst of this bad behavior involved committing rapes and leaving the victims alive, usually with the intent of hunting them down and revictimizing them again much later, for which they have been repeatedly and severely disciplined by Neora due to the risk to the whole family posed by a living witness.

Of the two of them, Enneiro is the primary perpetrator of sexual violence. He is far more enthusiastically a serial rapist than a murderer. But Orienne is just as involved; his own interests lie mainly in encouraging Eiro to do worse and worse, and then watching the ensuing acts. Every act of sexual violence Eiro commits was done firstly because Orie wants him to do it, and secondly because he himself wants to do it.

Enneiro cannot orgasm from sexual violence against outsiders. His preference is to violate a victim for as long as he and Orienne feel like it, to ditch the victim alive somewhere, then to have sex with Orienne so he can actually come.

The twins both experience some amount of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

Orienne has no significant interest in having sex with anybody other than Ronanor (and Enneiro, of course, but the twins consider sex with each other to be a form of masturbation).

Ronanor, Orienne, and Enneiro managed a few quick sneaky hookups as teenagers while Ari still forbade them from interacting. Aroen was instrumental in facilitating and hiding these encounters.

Ronanor spent her early life being presumed male by the family. Orienne and Enneiro were the first in the family to know she was a woman.

Ronanor was born physically weak and fragile (in a modern medical context, she would probably be diagnosed with classical EDS). As she matured, she developed increasingly severe chronic pain and fatigue. In adulthood, the twins are her deeply devoted caretakers.

Discipline is a major component of the sexual relationship between Rona and the twins. She often keeps them in chastity for significant periods of time.

As an adult, Ronanor's calling within the family is as an evangelist of the cult; she spends much of her time travelling far and wide establishing cult outposts in cities around Faerûn. The twins go everywhere she goes.

When the fourth generation comes along, Lyra, the youngest of Neora and Noelle's triplets, bonds with Ronanor, coming to see her as a big sister. Knowing the twins' reputation within the family for bad behavior does little to dissuade and much to entice Lyra, who quickly becomes infatuated with Enneiro in particular.

Lyra, who is in her own right a sexual predator, often participates in the twins' abductions of victims they intend to keep around for a while for sexual abuse (an evolution of their earlier method of quick attacks in shadowy alleyways and such) by posing as a friendly young girl to serve as bait. Other times, she's right there when a drugged victim awakens in a locked room, and she plays at being another abducted victim, but a special well-trained victim, one her captors like so much more than their new toy.

Ronanor, Orienne, Enneiro, and Lyra consider themselves their own little household of four.

Digital Camcorder, Camera, etc.

Mp3 player (instead of spotify and others. no subscription for adless listening lol)

Basic ass old portable phone (like that 2000s shit that is less distracting)

A computer, to keep yourself online (on reddit tumblr discord or whatsapp) its less distracting than a modern cellphone cause its less 'handy' and keeps you centralized on one task. I think this is important and some of my productivity stems from using a laptop instead of an iphone.

DVD player, and ofc DVDs to play on it. we value physical media.

download improtant files and videos. store backups. archive everything. i personally prefer physical books, but always download pdfs even if they're tedious to read.

conclusion:

a phone is a HUGE distraction in my everyday life. I spend hours doing nothing scrolling tiktok (well no not tiktok i dont really use that or insta. let me admit: its here that i spend all day on. and while i absolutely adore my moots and other people , it takes time away from 'real life.') i need to get away from that and find more time to be productive and creative . This is my solution.
