the key to surviving grad school (also maybe life but definitely grad school) is to pick a side quest every few months or so. something that brings you joy and that you can get better at over time, independent of whether or not your research or classes are going well. put your need for academic validation to use in a non-academic setting and everything will feel less dire and you will learn you are more than your work

Combining "Yeti's use ice powers to heal" + "Danny is turned into a cat and stuck like that" + "Danny is adopted by Mr. Freeze cause ice powers"

Contrary to popular belief, Danny does not have a direct hand in healing Mr. Freeze's wife. They're 2 idiots with ice powers mourning together. In fact it ends with Danny accepting the destruction of his dimension and/or death of his family, and Mr. Freeze accepting that he cant save his wife

It's Danny as a stray cat desperately trying to save this random kid and ends up using his ice to stop the bleeding. Finding out he can heal is a complete accident. It's Mr. Freeze finding this meta cat with ice powers who can heal. Danny is on the edge, and the person who drags him away from it is a man who fell off of it a long time ago. Mr. Freeze somehow finds peace and happiness in taking care of this reckless cat

Danny trains his healing only to find out that he can't heal the wife's illness. Mr. Freeze can no longer ignore that it's far too late to save her. Tragedy is a fact in life. Everyone dies one day. But in the loss of his wife, he finds that his research can save countless others. He finds solace in having that be her legacy, and this cat

Bonus: Danny is stuck as a cat until he accepts that he's no longer human. Danny is not half human and half ghost. He is both alive and dead. He can switch between both forms at will, but he is human in neither of them. Once he accepts that death is a fact of life he can change into a more humanoid form.

And perhaps Mr. Freeze looks at the kid's fae like features and asks if he can give him the name he and his wife were considering for a potential son

In your college au, what’s a fun fact about frisk you haven’t mentioned before?

frisk can drive but gets around on a bike most of the time because other members of their family needs the car all the time. and they sure like to get around. whenever theyve got free time (which is usually the night bc their days are filled with club activities or other social events- and because of this they migjt have accidentally spawned a couple urban legends about a creature that prowls at night) theyve got this habit where they run around the city to look at people or nooks and crannies nobody knows about, like a secret spot tucked away behind some buildings where stray animals gather.

It's funny how opinions can change over time for instance I used to want Bruce to be a good parent but then I realised how fucking boring that is to read at the end of the day comics are soap operas and I'm here for the drama

I’ve been thinking about this panel a lot recently. Especially since stargaze has been airing, they’ve been making a point to show the crater in the moon in a lot of scenes. I appreciate the reference to the manga (in the way a dog appreciates scraps) but to me when I see it in the show the impact and the horror of it is totally lost. Maybe its because Lost July lacks the same narrative importance that it has in manga. The moon in the manga is used as a reminder of Vash's power and his in-humaness. We for the most part are also reminded in kind about his true nature through Wolfwood who has to fight through a very real existential fear of Vash and by extension knives. He is constantly wrestling with what Vash is internally, and we as the audience are privy to these inner bits of dialogue.

To be specific about this scene, the moon is obviously not just the moon. Its a brilliant piece of juxtaposition, placed there in stark contrast to Vash's cute demeanor. His disarming smiling face with the very evidence of his world rending abilities fixed firmly above their heads. This thing, what Vash is, is constantly hanging above both of their heads in a way it is simply not in stargaze. This scene in it's essence feels like a perfect distillation of this aspect of Wolfwood's conflict with Vash. The constant wrestling with fear and desire and devotion. Following that last vein I also don't think it's an accident that the moon also acts like a halo here.... another form of separation between Wolfwoods humanity and Vash's in-humanity
