A view of @white_hill_mansion in Fieldsboro, #NewJersey. The mansion is located on a bluff along the Delaware River. Architecturally, it has a complicated history that has even puzzled architects as to its true dates. However, a small home was built on the property by Robert Field about 1723. A second home was later built to the right of the original home and connected by constructing an adjoining mid-section in the 1760s. However, there is currently ongoing research to determine if the section of the house on the left was built in 1723 or rebuilt on the 1723 foundation. The home was renovated in the Victorian style circa 1895. It then served as a restaurant from 1923 to 1992 and featured a full bar in the basement. After being abandoned for a number of years, in 1999, Fieldsboro acquired the #mansion. The Friends of White Hill Mansion have been taking steps to clean and document the house through architectural and archaeological studies and host a variety of events and tours to raise money toward its restoration. #nj #SpreadTheHistory #njhistory #historygirl #thisisnj #explore #adventure #travelblog #travelblogger #blogger #blog #history #ushistory #americanhistory #explorenj #njspots #jerseycollective #journeythroughjersey #whitehillmansion #fieldsboro #fieldsboronj #historicsite #burlingtoncounty #architecture #archi_ologie #oldhouselove #deserve2preserve #brick https://www.instagram.com/p/CGOag0IjziC/?igshid=offkt5qtcffs
