Happy DADWC day Xanaa :D How about for Isadora/Blackwall, The Hermit: Isolation. Sensory deprivation. Neglect. Feeling like an outcast. Going into hiding.

for @dadrunkwriting @crabs-with-sticks Happy DADWC! Thank you for the prompt! (Such a perfect prompt for Blackwall too!) I have not actually gotten a chance to write these two. For context Isadora is Marisol's grandmother so Blackwall is.... a little young for her. But I also feel like most people ship him with a younger Inquisitor. This takes place during the Kirkwall years of Grandma!AU in the year after Rainer did, well, that but prior to Warden Blackwall recruiting him for the Gray Wardens.

He had to admit, of all the things he expected to find in this slum of a tavern in Lowtown, it was not Antivan music. Cheap swill to drink, and even cheaper greasy food, yes. Sticky tables. An isolated corner where no one would recognize his face. Maybe even a cheap bed with a rickety old bed to stay in for the night. Ah. Who was he kidding. He would be sleeping in the hayloft some poor sod forgot to lock. Not like he deserved something nice like a bed anyway. He had no idea what the woman was singing about. It sounded the way he felt though. Sad. Hopeless. Yet... passionate. Something about amore. That was love right? He had to pick up Orlesian while at the academy, but he never did pick up antivan. The other patrons seemed familar with it at least. Or at least, familiar enough to attempt to drunkenly sing along. She was pretty. Older, if the gray streaks in her hair were any indication. Or at least, closer to himself in age. Her voice was...captivating. There was an odd sort of conviction, even if he did not understand the words. It stirred a part of him that he had long ago drowned out. Or maybe it had never been there from the start. Why did he care? He found himself taking distracted sips as he found himself watching her intently. As she wrapped up the song, their eyes locked for a moment, her voice holding out the last note with surprising power. He found it difficult to look away, for once ignoring the spilling drink the barmaid dropped in front of him.
