Inseparable was written and recorded by Thomas McConnell, 2014.
I have lived and studied in Liverpool, and I know for a fact that many good thing comes from that city. Thomas McConnell is a fresh and new example. This lovely scouser has created a unique sound, showcased through his two-side single, ‘CROCODILE’. Being inspired by Paul McCartney’s medley styled songs like ‘Band On The Run’ and ‘Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey’, Thomas McConnell explains how he created ‘Crocodile’: “I wanted to apply the twists and turns of that kind of songwriting to a jagged 70’s-esque/Glam rock track with dense Beach Boys/ELO style production and hazy synths”. The track embeds a true feel-good vibe, reminiscent of the eclectic pop/rock sounds of the 60’s and 70’s, which can easily be compared to David Bowie, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Zombies, just to mention a few. Not only has the 21-year old written, composed and arranged the track all by himself, he is also performing all instruments and vocals, and co-produced it with Jon Lawton. He is know from the open-mic scene in Liverpool, yet he has also toured with several bands, like Glenn Tilbrook, Ian McNabb and China Crisis (I’m especially fan of the latter, as Eddie Lundon used to be my songwriting teacher). And if that’s not enough to impress you, his cover version of Paul McCartney’s “New” was shared online by McCartney himself! Thomas even goes all the way with his Mod-inspired haircut and suits, that’s dedication and authenticity, two important key words to succeed in the music industry today, which I know he will! Download Thomas McConnel’s two-side single “Crocodile” either on iTunes, or stream it for free on Soundcloud, or watch the music video from YouTube here!
Met thomasmcconnellmusic through Twitter. I liked the style, specially this song's: it's like listening to The Beatles and Oasis together.
Let's hope we see some day a full record and I can review it. Best of luck!
