What if?
Have anyone else ever felt that the person getting in the way of all the things you want to do is you? I mean I always have this barrage of ideas of things I want to do like: make a documentary, put out tutorials on youtube, do that comic I’ve been conceptualizing for years now, etc. I mean a lot of those ideas/plans are on hold for monetary reasons sure but there’ still plenty I can do that I can’t bring myself to do. Why? Because I keep thinking what if it sucks? It sounds so great in my head and when I talk to a trusted few about it they seem excited but I can’t help but think what if that’s the wrong way to go about it? What if its been done before? What if? What if? I somehow get caught up in that freaking ‘What if?’ storm that everything comes to a standstill and nothing gets done. Maybe its because putting something out for public consumption is what freaks me out the most. Once I put something out there it in a way is no longer mine; it’s in the public’s hands and they can build it up or tear it down as they see fit and everything is subjective. I kinda miss my high school days when I didn’t care what people thought and just created anything and everything with abandon. Then again at that time social media was not the monolithic giant that it is today, so who knows. I really need to get over this. Somehow.

watch your thought pattern. when you feel like you have to change something, one of these thoughts would follow, do you think:

if you thought 1: You the type to beat yourself up and stress over every little shit. Why does everyone else still perform better than you when they don’t even use their brain enough??? When in fact, you are no chill and is the type to beat yourself up over what you can’t do, and you bully yourself into really doing important shit. (then you get busy defending yourself from yourself. isnt that kind of ridiculous.You’d notice all of that defensive thinking when you’re stuck in a thought loop. Loads of bullshit.) See? Even you think your life sucks.
What to do now: Please be nice to yourself by consoling yourself of what you have not done and not achieving your very important high standards, because it’s less about accepting that life sucks like what it is now, but more about realizing there’s a better next time. Console all the bullshit thoughts and replace them by thinking about no. 2.
