What triggers anxiety to a Ti user
So you’re in the middle of the woods and got a compass with you (yeah, the magnetic one) showing you where you want to go. What do you do? Obviously. Going down the road or not, crossing the freaking jungly woods, swimming across the lake, jumping rock to rock, counting clouds I don’t know whatever you feel like because you’re living your adventure, your compass is showing you the direction so you can enjoy the ride however you feel like it.
Along that road you find some signs: color marks of different man-made paths so you won’t get lost, warning sings because that’s a lake full of alligators, symbols of different people, hidden messages, arrows pointing at the huge most beautiful waterfall ever...Each one of those signs mean something and creates a certain reaction out of you, right? But you got your compass with you, so you know what to pay more attention to and use this signs as only that: “Okay yeah I read the warning that this floor will collapse as soon as I step on it, will find another way got it”, “oh well I can do jujitsu to alligators, I got a phd on it so there’s no problem into swimming between them” and you move on.
There are windy days, hella hot horrendous dehydration days, floods, huge storms, predators, weird noises and creatures, venomous plants. There are days where everything seems to be against you, yet you got your compass with you so you still know where you are and where you want to go. You know you can still move on. So you push further even in the most extreme conditions.
Now you wake up one beautiful morning, sun still coming up, take a look at your compass and is endlessly circling. Hitting, punching, shaking, screaming, cursing...nothing works, it keeps circling. Fuck you don’t know how to point north or south. Fuck you don’t know how to read constellations and that’s at night where everything’s more dangerous. Fuck I only had my compass. Now what? Now even though you may lie to yourself saying that everything’s okay, reality is that everything has changed because you won’t face those woods like any other day. Those woods are different.
You decide to pay more attention to those signs and warnings you never give too much importance cause...the compass. Problem is, which signs and warnings should you pay attention to? Where are you suppose to go? On your left there’s this wonderful vill but it looks familiar so it’s not the best option, on here you got a warning sign about a volcano and on your right there are some animal drawing you don’t seem to know very well but it looks kind of dangerous. Fuck, where am I suppose to go? Which one is more dangerous? But what if I have to go to the other one? How really of a warning are those signs? You start paying attention to things and start to wonder about stuff you normally never stop into digging. And suddenly are more aware about unpleasant stuff that makes you feel in danger, out of control, confused, responsible, scared and so on. The woods become darker and darker by the minute, like everything’s changing to the point that you no longer are able to recognize it anymore nor yourself. You’re starting to lose yourself inside that forrest because there were things you were oblivious outside and inside you that now take too much presence and your only guide keeps malfunctioning.
A once beautiful, wild, free jungle now has turned into a dark horror leafy maze.
The compass is our minds, rationale, intellect and intuition. Woods signs, marks and warning are our emotions. We’re so used in over-using and depending on our minds that whenever it chooses to stop working properly or suddenly rebells itself, we don’t have any other support. Because we’re not used in leaning on our emotions, many times we don’t give them that much of attention apart from the “direct message” and period. So whenever we start to be more aware of them we start to see a different world we’re not used to nor comfortable about. And our minds keep playing its game so everything starts being more and more disastrous. Then there’s the details. In my case, reason why I show you the signs as the trigger is because I’m comfortable with chaos because I’m a Ne user, but I have the Ti to make it make sense so it don’t feel like chaos. When I don’t have that Ti and lean on my Fe or generally a F or S function that’s when things starts getting fucking real.
