I was originally just going to post separate posts about how I see the functions. But I got lazy and thought it would take too long. So I’m going to do a summary of the functions in two posts instead. Clearly, I’m starting with the functions I am more aware of: Ti, Ne, Si, and Fe. I’m going to get the gist of them, at least. So here goes.
(Oh, and as a side note: I do not feel like stereotyping Si into a function about memory and tradition. I think that’s ludicrous. If you believe I’m wrong, you can always correct me.)
Ti: We as individuals are the proof that the world is almost inconceivable and unreliable. We can only perceive and not judge. So we might as well come up with the solutions ourselves. I won’t force you to do anything, but I expect nothing but the best from you. It’s okay to be wrong, though, as facts can get pretty twisted. So not every single fact matters; only the ones that are important to you. But remember, I have my logic and you have yours. Don’t you dare tell me my logic is somehow wrong. Prove your inner logic and why your logic makes sense, and I won’t have to fight you.
Ne: The many different ideas and patterns out there are proof that the world is a very weird place. Anything can happen. Every idea counts and matters. I won’t turn your perspective down because who knows? You could be right. Hey, if we put our heads together, it might develop into something completely new and undiscovered. I don’t care how weird the idea might get; it doesn’t matter. What matters is that it could happen. I would break down if you prove my ideas won’t work or that they make no sense. But if you can’t prove it and you still try to tell me that it won’t work or make sense, I just might punch you out. *shrugs* Anything could happen.
Si: We as individuals are the proof that the world’s details don’t matter. We are merely perceivers. What matters is what you find important and how you can apply it to make sense of the world. Believing every detail matters makes you lose sight of what’s important. If a dog peed on my leg, should I care that it smells like ammonia? Or should I try to remember how to get pee scent out of my pants? I overlook certain details in exchange for anything that I consider important. What’s important to you isn’t important to me, and I’m cool with that. Unless you want to cross me by forcing me to care about nonsense? Prove why you think you’re practical and you might just find a friend in me.
Fe: We as a group of people are proof that emotions and values are important to the masses. Every individual matters because singling people out shows favoritism. If we add up all the values that humans have conceived, we would end up with a sum of how we should act towards others. My personal feelings matter very little and I don’t know why they ever would; what matters is everyone else’s. How can I determine what matters to individuals if I don’t look at the whole? That is not my place. I would be very hurt if you prove that universal values and morals don’t work in every situation. But if you can’t prove that and you try to tell me your personal feelings matter more than the group’s, I will fight back. And I guarantee you’ll regret it.
