Ooh ! Requests: ...since we had Pharazon then maybe another Númenorean?
There are so many possible Numenoreans but I choose Tindomiel daughter of Elros this time. She was fun I should probably do more Numenoreans in the future 🤔

Morning Star & Evening Star

So @peasant-player said I should draw Tindómiel and I thought it’d be a great idea so I did that! And I drew Arwen while I was at it also :)
It’s only fair I draw Elrond and Elros’ daughters together (and I also thought it was cute to give them matching pendants, sue me)
The plan was to finish it before I posted it but honestly I don’t think I’ll have the time so unfortunately I’ll have to give you this and then finish it when I can </3
The half-elven.

Symbolism in Tolkien's names
Playing with the meaning of names and Epessë
1. Ereinion Gil-galad 'Star of Radiance'
Finduilas Faelivrin 'Gleam of the Sun on the Pools of Ivrin'
Siblings with Epessë that have opposite meanings. "Gil-galad" was given it because his silver armor shone in the moonlight and sunlight as like a star. Gil-galad can also be translated as "starlight" (which is also silver light)
"Faelivrin" means sunshine on the pools.
Siblings of silver and gold gleam. Gil-galad has a silver gleam and Finduilas has a golden gleam (sun = gold). And also their Epessë both given for gleam.
2. Elrond 'star-doom'
Ereinion Gil-galad 'Star of Radiance'
Arwen Undómiel 'Evening Star'
Eärendil Gil-Estel 'Star of High Hope'
The important people to Elrond were his stars and Elrond was their firmament. Stars on the star-dome.
And an interesting fact: Arwen, who is called the Evening star, has a grandfather (Eärendil) is a real evening star (and morning)!
3. Elwing 'Star-spray'
Vingilot 'Foam-flower'
'Wing' only actually occurs in two names of the Eärendil legend: Elwing the name of his wife, and Vingilote the name of his ship. Vingilótë (in Quenya) from winga ("foam, spray") + lótë ("flower"). (This is said in The Peoples of Middle-earth)
Eärendil probably took part of his wife's name for the ship's name. Eärendil is such a romantic.
4. Ereinion Gil-galad 'Star of Radiance'
Elendil 'Lover of the stars'
Gil-galad is a star and Elendil loves stars. Considering their friendship, this is symbolic
5. Arwen Undómiel 'Evening Star'
Tindómiel 'Morning Star'
The name Tindómiel does not have a precise meaning but one interpretation is that it means "morning star". I like this meaning more than "daughter of twilight", as the parallel with Arwen makes more sense.
Tindómiel and Undómiel are cousins through Elros and Elrond, both second child of their fathers. Morning comes before Evening, so Tindómiel was born before Arwen. Tindómiel morning of Men of Númenor because she was born in their prime. Arwen Evening of Elves because she was born at the beginning of their fading.
