Mermay Day 11: Spotted Silver Dollar
The spotted silver dollar lives in the warm, plant-filled backwaters and slow-moving rivers of the Amazon Basin, often among submerged roots and dense vegetation. In its natural habitat, it forms peaceful shoals, swimming together for safety and grazing primarily on aquatic plants. Timid in temperament , these fish rely on the shelter and abundance of their lush, ever-changing environment to thrive.

Cherry Shrimp Mer Izzi is like 2-3 inches and Everett is over 25ft. 💀 (That’s probably pretty scary)

What if: au where Olympe is a tiny merman the size of a goldfish, who lives in an aquarium
He’d be a cutie!!
She’d break out of the aquarium as soon as possible!! Once she nearly dies of drowning in air, assuming she’s the same species, she’d transform into a human.
Size shifting out of being a goldfish - that is, growing into a human man rather than shrinking into one - would be a wild experience! I draw a lot of secret giants but haven’t really explored secret tinies.
When he escapes, he thinks he’s a lucky carp turning into a dragon. But is actually just turning into a Human Man. A Twink, even.
Bonus: a tiny pearl bracelet on a fish. When he’s a man he wears it as a little ring :)

Tia (short for Nautia) is having a time. Not a good time. A really bad time, actually. Sure, her wounds have become scars and even if her torn fin aches she can still swim, but the abyssal plain has little in the way of food for a reef mer, and the algae clinging to the hull of the sunken landwalker ship was her last hope. Too bad the ship belonged to someone else.
So yes, she is having a very bad day.
Good thing Seiche is there to make it worse!
