Rell's Hell
Ended up falling down a rabbit hole of reading all about the poem Tomino's Hell after watching a playthrough of the Chilla's Arts game: 'The Radio Station | 深夜放送'.
It got on to mistranslations and misunderstandings of the poem's context, in particular the way that 'spits up his soul' has been changed to 'spits up the jewel(s)' in the past when translated to English, due to the written word for 'Jewel' also being understandable as containing the word for 'Soul' or 'Spirit', because both denote something that is precious.
And with that in mind, I'd just like to say:
not my usual post but one of my unpopular opnions is that tomino from tomino's hell (japanese urban legend) would be much more interesting if it was a boy than if it was a girl (and im not even going to mention about it maybe being a trans boy in my opnion)

Witch of heaven or hell?
THE WITCH OF HELL
Tomino, the witch of hell, its nature is presumed to be suffering. A witch that wanders a twisted field of the red flowers representing her loss. Her body in constant pain as she shambles across the riverside, looking for any signs of her loss having washed-up. Come across her, and she'll tear you apart, throwing the remaining parts into the river, where she'll come across another day. Tomino, is actually Shi's mom. Using the innate magic she was given, she protected her daughter to the last moment by inheriting the suffering of the witch that threatened the hospital they were in. Since in this state, Tomino still takes human form Shi's mom, meaning this isn't the true version of Tomino as a witch. This form of Tomino can be compared to Nutcracker Homulilly.
No witch of heaven witch this, but I presume that would be the witch that Shi's mom fuses with to become the witch of hell.

With his older sister he threw up blood, with his younger sister he threw up fire, the cute Tomino threw up glass beads.
Tomino fell into Hell alone. Hell is wrapped in darkness and even the flowers don’t bloom. Is the person with the whip Tomino’s older sister?
I wonder whose voice that was, calling from deep within Hell. The whipping intensifies, as a single path of torture.
If they are in Hell, bring them to me. The needle of the graves pierces through the wind, striking Tomino’s spine.
The sweet singing of a lark echoes in the blackness. The howling of an unknown beast. The blood on Tomino drips quietly, quietly.
Burn, burn, the flames of Hell. Even the caged birds in golden Hells cry, as does Tomino.
*sigh* I hate to admit this but looking back at the (poorly disguised, and fictionalized) vent art I made back in late 2023-2024, it was clear as day that DeviantArt's toxicity was doing a number on my mind and I should've immediately left back then permanently to be on Tumblr rather than stay and let my mental health get worse.
