it's a clipping mask!

i used a glitch effect psd file i already had on hand (it's a free download from freepik here)

after opening the file in ps, i expanded the 'effect' folder layer and selected the mask on the image 5 layer by holding ctrl and clicking the mask.

which gives me the marching ants around the glitchy effect:

next i copied that selection (ctrl + c) and pasted it onto a new document, giving me this:

now, i wanted to be able to actually see how it looks, so i inverted the layer with ctrl + i:

from here i converted this into a smart object. (whenever i need to resize something, i always convert the image in a smart object first bc it helps preserve the clarity.)

okay! now! i went back to my base gif of guilt-ridden kant:

then duplicated my glitchy effect smart object on top of it and resized/moved the smart object using the transform tool (ctrl + t) until it was at a size and position that i liked:

from here, i just set my gif of boba-eyed bison directly above the glitchy thing, right-clicked on that layer to activate the drop-down menu, and selected 'create clipping mask' to attach it to the smart object 'shape' below it.

which gave me this:

i upped the black in a selective color adjustment layer, added my text, and here's the final product:

Hello! First time poster, so bare with me, please! I am looking for a #bucktommy fic

Tommy and Buck are having "fun" in the bedroom while Eddie is on the couch. Tommy being a little possessive... and Buck is very vocal about all the fun is having, forgetting about Eddie being there.

I can't find the fic anymore, so if anyone has an idea, please please please get back to me!

Baking and Basketball (Edit 3)

The baiting game is on, Baby!

Right after Bucktommy break up episode, 8x06 "Confessions", went live on Nov 07, 2024, I wondered whether Tim Minear would bait BT nations like he'd been baiting Buddie fans. Three episodes after the break up, he seems to do just that:

1)) Ep. 8x07 "Hotshots", live on Nov 14, 2024

#Tommybubblesbuck, giving a sign that Tommy was also struggling with the break up.

Buck was baking. He said it was to prevent himself from reaching out to Tommy.

2)) Ep. 8x08 "Wannabes", live on Nov 21, 2024

Buck mentioned how he almost called Tommy when he was giving Eddie some baked goods.

3)) Ep. 8x09 "Sob Stories", live on Mar 06, 2025

Buck supposedly dislikes basketball. So, why did Buck hold a basketball when he was talking to Eddie at Eddie's house? He did it absentmindedly, but this is a scripted show. That scene was clearly planned in advance.

It is because Buck played basketball with Tommy, and Tommy gave Buck basketball tickets on their six months anniversary. Thus, basketball = Tommy.

I haven't seen any BT fans going gaga over this. Perhaps this bait went over their heads. If this were a Buddie bait, I don't think Buddie stans would miss it. After all, they have 7 years experience of eating crumbs and whatnots, lol.

EDIT 1: Several Bucktommy fans told me that they had noticed the basketball scene. They just knew it was a bait, and refused to react. Oh, kudos to you, Guys👍👍👍. I'm so proud of us!

EDIT 2: Blaze/Bingo the dog.

When Buck returned Blaze/Bingo to its owners he said, "I know we didn't have much time together, but I will never forget you. And you don't go running off on your people anymore, okay? Because... you have no idea how hard it is on them."

"Didn't have much time together" is clearly a reference to Tommy, not Eddie (Buck and Eddie has been friends for 7 years!).

@johanna-swann reminded me about this scene. Initially, I hesitated to include this on the list. Yes, it's clearly a reference to Tommy, but I see it as a proxy goodbye to Tommy, which Buck never had a chance to say (because Tim Minear doesn't allow Buck to call him 😒). And because it's a goodbye, which is sad, I didn't associate it with a hope of reunion, which is supposed to be hopeful.

Later on, I pondered about all the other hints. On the surface, all of them show that Buck still remembers Tommy. They become baits because by making Buck remembers Tommy, the show ignites the hope in (some of) BT fans' hearts that there would be a reunion. Because they're clearly not over each other. Sadly, this is not always the case. One day, Buck could meet another Love Interest and let Tommy go, like he let Abby go after he met Taylor Kelly.

As long as Buck still remembers Tommy, (at least, some) BT fans will always have hope for their reunion. By dragging Buck's remembrance of Tommy, Tim Minear could bait BT fans as long as he wanted. Damn it!

Back to the Buck & Blaze's goodbye scene, considering it also shows that Buck still remembers Tommy, I think it's eligible as a bait. Hence, this addition to the list.

4)) Ep. 8x10 "Voices", live on Mar 13, 2025

9-1-1 was shooting in front of someone's house. That person has recorded parts of it, then uploaded the clips on TikTok. It seems like Buck gave Eddie baked goods while Eddie was moving out. We don't know what episode this scene would be in. However, since Eddie has said goodbye to 118 family in ep. 8x09, it is safe to guess that this scene would be in ep. 8x10.

Edit 3: Yup. Buck is still baking and mentions Tommy's name in ep. 8x10 "Voices"

Did Tim Minear think he could bait BT nations like he did to Buddie fans? Did he think we would go gaga over basketball and baked goods while declaring "Bucktommy reunited!" all over the internet? I can see why he was thinking like that. He has seen Buddie stans doing exactly that and more for 7 years and counting. It's funny, but also a little insulting.
