No hate on the Death Gripper design, i think its a very unique dragon in a lot of ways, its like the Tarnatula Hawk Wasp of the dragon world but serious... Did the character designers of THW take a class on 'What's Edgy And Something a Bad Guy Would Have'? Nearly everything about it screams teenage edge and angst from the black and red body, its a dragon killer, its the bad dragon, its got a plot bending ability, at it was missing was a redemption arc

They made them edgy and MEAN LOOKING!!1 in the hopes that you wouldn't notice or care when Toothless murders six of them in ice-cold blood for the unforgivable crime of being controlled by the same substance that Grimmel's using on his toilet paper girlfriend.
