I feel like Spock would enjoy a cat cafe
hello and welcome to star trek tos character coffee/drink orders according to me, someone who's had far too much caffeine lately:
kirk: flat white, one sugar and it's still kind of bitter. he'll drink anything but the flat white is easy and quick and doesn't look like he's trying too hard
spock: in an ideal world, americano. lowkey a bit watery but it fits his vibe. HOWEVER when it's available he will absolutely take a steaming hot dirty chai with soy milk
bones: iced black cold drip coffee with maple cold foam, but he still has a sweet spot for cheap filter coffee from the pot even if it's low quality
scotty: piping hot flat white with whole milk and three sugars. Or a vanilla milkshake, he'll take either
uhura: large caramel skim milk latte and she always brings her own takeaway cup. she'll drink chai with spock but insists that adding coffee ruins it
chapel: decaf iced vanilla latte with almond milk because she's lactose intolerant and has a bit of a sweet tooth
sulu: a flat white but he's made it his mission to learn how to do coffee/milk art on all his drinks and he's actually really good at it
chekov: just six shots of espresso in a big cup and he'll make everybody around him regret it

Listen i Fully believe that bones smokes weed. that man has a patch growing in Georgia. He 100% is more an edibles and drinks guy though. its the future that man is having like a THC mint julep i know it.
For the ask game: On the TOS Enterprise: Best chef (and separately, best baker!)
(It also would be great for DS9, of course, but we all know Sisko would be in first!)

Chef:
McCoy. He just strikes me as someone who knows his way around a home cooked recipe.
Uhura. I feel like she'd be quite adventurous in trying out new alien recipes.
Jim. He doesn't set put to make anything fancy, but he enjoys making simple meals and being able to feed those around him.
Chekov. Of course, all the meals he makes - from lasagne to chow mein - are undoubtedly, unfailingly Russian
Scotty. "Cooking's just like engineering with food", he says... and it shows 😅
Spock. A successful meal is one that's edible... Also it's illogical to his time on something that he doesn't enjoy when others will do the task better than he can.
Sulu. Total space kid raised on replicated food. Has never seen a real egg. McCoy despairs of him.
Baking:
Chekov. He's just really, really into it - it was an activity he used to do with his grandfather and is still fond of.
Jim. He likes it even more than cooking, because it's relaxing - especially kneading dough.
Uhura. Prefers cooking, but baking is still pretty enjoyable.
McCoy. Doesn't really enjoy baking, but he's still pretty good at it when he does.
Scotty. "Baking's just like engineering with food...."
Spock. Same reasoning as before.
Sulu. He's never seen a real egg.
Listen I am aware that TOS actors wore all that makeup so they didn't look so washed out on old tv sets. But I choose to believe that they actually just liked wearing smokey eyes and pink lip gloss and criminal amounts of blush. That's just how the men of the enterprise are. Spock and bones share an eyeshadow palette. Bones taught Kirk to apply lip gloss.
The consigliere and investigator had a mentor-student like relationship before consig joined the mafia. When they joined the mafia they disappeared, leaving invest to help the town with what little they knew about investigation
TOS head-canons: Chekov & Sulu
they give each other foreign languages lessons: Sulu teaches Chekov Japanese, and Chekov teaches Sulu Russian
“how is it possible that there aren’t a lot of bad vords in Japanese?”
“we’re generally polite people”
they say shit about other crew members because they hate the same people
when Kirk and Spock aren’t on the bridge, so Scotty’s in charge, there’s a relaxed climate and they always joke around and talk in other accents but Chekov is so bad at it and makes everyone laugh
they have a lot of inside jokes - like, space sick or the ‘it was inwented in Russia’ thing - and they often laugh because of Bones’ jokes about Spock
they call each other as their cultures require: Sulu calls Chekov ‘Andreivich’, because when you’re friends with a person in Russia you call them by their patronymic, and Pavel calls Hikaru ‘Sulu-kun’, or later on ‘Sulu-chan’ or ‘Hikaru-chan’; sometimes, just for fun, Chekov calls Sulu ‘Hikaru-senpai’ but he hates it because he used to be loved by his kohai when he was young - but he secretly enjoys it
they sometimes talk to Uhura because they’re like the silver trio of the Enterprise and they have fun and laugh together, but Uhura is often pissed at them because they’re troublemakers and she hates giving troubles
“Russian traditions are vay better than Japanese ones”
“you say so but who invented manga and anime?”
“and who inwented wodka?”
they’re the ultimate space friendship!!
they’re drinking buddies with Scotty, especially Chekov (troubles with tribbles!!)
they dance on the bridge - obviously when Scotty’s in charge - and sometimes Kirk or Spock came up without advertising and found them dancing a valzer or other slow dances
Chekov teaches Sulu traditional Russian dances but he sucks so Pavel laugh at and with him
they also sing song passionately and literally scream the lyrics
Uhura always asks Scotty “why are they always so laud?”
and Scotty answers “I don’t know, but I do know that sometimes I’m really sick of them”
they have buddies nights: they stay in one’s room and gossip a little about people they don’t like + they eat a lot of ice cream and talk about the work and how much they miss their families
even though they always joke and they seem childish, they share deep thoughts and very intimate memories and moments because they’re best friends
they don’t often talk about their private life but when they do it it’s serious stuff like “my mother died and I lived on the moon”, “yeah the moon is so cool man” (ah ah you wished that they were serious)
totally (not always) platonic friendship and handhold
when they first met Chekov thought Sulu was Chinese and he was offended by it
they respect each other and the other’s culture a lot: like, they celebrate Russian and Japanese festivities together without drama and they often invite Uhura
