A quick opinion on Tokyo Revengers chapter 274.
PS1: Actually, I posted this last Saturday because the chapter was leaked in Spain and I was overwhelmed by emotion. However, I later realized that this could upset several fans and the author himself, so I put it in private and now I'm republishing it again. Sorry for all the inconvenience.
Tokyo Revengers Chapter 274 is out now! And it is that, although it has been a somewhat hasty explanation, Wakui comes out successful again before the end of the series and finally explains to us what dark impulses are.
SPOILERS FROM HERE, BEWARE!
In the end, the dark impulses are nothing more than an evil cycle that really affects all of humanity: the cycle of violence. And what better way to explain this than gang members, who are surrounded by her?
The most graphic explanation would be that:
- Shin kills the homeless man and with him manages to obtain the power to save his brother.
- However, that power stems directly from violence and thus dark impulses are also born with it. (I understand this as Shin being Mikey's example. If Shin exercises violence in that indiscriminate way, his little brother will do the same).
- Karma (as Shinichiro calls it!) trapped Shin through Kazutora (who, it must be remembered, already comes from a violent home. This could mean that violence only begets violence).
The direct consequences of violence wreak havoc on the rest of the characters... BECAUSE VIOLENCE STAINS EVERYTHING.
The more I review this explanation, the truth is that I like it more (it is clear that TokRev is a manga to review infinitely and not just to give it a read, haha). Wow, Wakui!
PS: I add that Wakui has done the exact opposite (or at least, that's what he seems to be doing) of what he did in Sekisei Inko: transform an originally supernatural story into something mundane.
