Pokemon World Championships and the wide possibilities of cameos
Now that Ash has officially entered the World Championships (and won yay but more on this later), do you guys think that the championships would be a great way to have some characters make special appearances?
Yes we were blessed with a double cameo by Misty in Sun and Moon so I won’t be disappointed if she doesn’t show up BUT I do hope she does because she does enjoy competitive battling almost as much as Ash does and their battles always do make for such great episodes. It would be great if they decided to pick her as one of the opponent Ash beats to rise up the ranks. My personal preference would be to see Ash’s Gengar vs her Psyduck and his Dragonite vs her Gyarados.
My second cameo hope is for Paul! You guys it would make for such an intense episode, he is still honestly the best written rival after Gary and is perfectly suited to show up in a tournament like this. Would love to see him with a Corviknight or even Incineroar for that matter and maybe even overpower Ash in a battle or two before Ash can counter him with a win.
Thirdly, other Elite members or Champions, specifically Cynthia! Her anime characterization was done very well IMO and she doesn’t necessarily have to battle Ash, even a battle against Leon would be worth showcasing.
Fourthly, IRIS! Man I really, really wanna see Iris again and honestly she’d make for such a fun battle cameo. Ideally I’d love to see her go up against Cynthia, Lance or even Misty for that matter but I know chances of this dream coming true are really, really thin. (And that is why we were blessed with Pokemon Masters)
Lastly, I want to see Gary and Ritchie. I mean this tournament doesn’t really require you to go on collecting badges to participate so this is something Gary can do side by side with his research and it has been so long since we’ve been blessed with an Ash vs Gary scenario that my heart would literally stop if it actually happened. And Ritchie, because well they do spend a lot of time in Kanto so it would make for a good throwback.
So these are the characters I wanna see participate or just generally appear in the World Championships, what about you?
