Concept art of Apollo 11 landing on the lunar surface.
"TRW Incorporated's artist concept depicting the Apollo 11 Lunar Module (LM) descending to the surface of the moon. Inside the LM will be astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, commander, and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr., lunar module pilot. Astronaut Michael Collins, command module pilot, will remain with the Command and Service Modules (CSM) in lunar orbit. TRW's LM descent engine will brake Apollo 11's descent to the lunar surface. The throttle-able rocket engine will be fired continuously the last 10 miles of the journey to the moon, slowing the LM to a speed of two miles per hour at touchdown. TRW Incorporated designed and built the unique engine at Redondo Beach, California under subcontract to the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, Bethpage, New York, the LM prime."
I often enjoy going to the park, taking a book with me, sitting on the grass, and reading. I may be sitting there for 2–3 hours, I don't know, I'm losing track of time.
This picture was taken by an eight-year-old boy in the front parlor of a house on Pleasant Street in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on July 20, 1969. There are better pictures of the first Moon landing, but this is my favorite.
Alex Turner Inspired Character x OC!
Genre: Sci-Fi, romance
She came to Tranquility Base Hotel and the town surrounding it to find a new life. What she didn't expect was to fall for the owner.
Note: I kept his name Alex Turner until I find a name I like!
Chapter I
Moans filled the room as she panted. He had a firm grip on her body as he kissed up and down her shoulder, his beard scratching her skin in the most pleasurable way possible. Her hands were tangled in his hair, tugging on it for leverage.
Nothing compared to this feeling. Nothing ever felt better than what they were feeling right now. They hadn't felt like this in three years, not since they split. They'd had one night stands, but nothing ever compared to when they were together.

THREE YEARS PREVIOUS
People took their seats on the benches as they waited for the transport. This is what she'd been waiting for her entire life, ever since her mother told her all about Tranquility Base Landing — The Moon City, as many called it.
Most went for the attraction, to see family, etc. But she was one of the few who went for a new start. She'd lost all meaningful things to her that held her back on Earth. All of her friends had gone and loved it, and said that there were many job opportunities, especially at the biggest attraction: The Tranquility Base Hotel; Casino To Come. And her mother had told her all about how she used to work at the hotel and knew the owners.
She'd heard many amazing things about the hotel and so she saved up enough money for a transport ticket on the Lunae Civilization Transportation Vessels (LCTV).
She had her nose in some book she always read, but she struggled to read it as these three little kids were getting on her last nerve. And then, finally, they called for passengers to board Lunae Vessel 505. That was her vessel that she would ride to Tranquility Base Landing.
Quickly she jumped out of her seat, grabbed all of her bags, and was nearly the first in the line to board. She looked around at all the people who were boarding. She saw people of many races, genders, and social classes. As they waited, two men came by with carts and took all their heavy baggage. All of them waited for a bit until they finally saw a lady in a uniform with various buttons from many space programs. The lady had brown hair, a septum piercing, was tall and had quite a few tattoos.
"Hello, everybody, and welcome to Lunae Civilization Vessel Transportation formed by NASA in 2045. My name is Taylor and I'll be your stewardess for the trip," the lady had a monotone voice, and she spoke smoothly. "As many of you know, the trip will take almost a day, so you will have to spend one night in your overnight room. Food, drink, toiletries, etc. will be provided for you. Please board the carrying vessel in a single file line until all are on board and the doors have closed. Have a wonderful flight to Tranquility Base Landing!" She finished speaking and then allowed everyone to move past her.
All the passengers awaiting their journey to the moon walked down a long hall that led to the vessel. The lights were along the floor, they were dimmed. It was almost like an eerie sci-fi movie that would include the rise of the machines, quantitative easing, religious iconography, and the ascension of the C.R.E.A.M. It all reminded her of those old space movies from the twentieth century on what space exploration and colonization would be like in the far future. They thought that in the future there would be flying cars, rocket ships everywhere, and the colonization of far away planets in distant galaxies where humans and their life forms lived in peace and harmony. And some were true. There was the colonization of the moon — Tranquility Base Landing — and they did know much more about distant planets in far away galaxies, but they were far from human exploration. And there were very few space shuttles, at the most liberal of estimates there are about seventeen shuttles world wide, several of which are used for civilian transportation.
And then finally, they'd reached the end of the hallway. Right there in front of them was a metal door with a handprint lock pad. Taylor walked in front of them and unlocked the door. All of the awaiting passengers watched as the door opened and they entered the vessel. They all then entered the vessel after Taylor had walked on. Taylor waited until all the passengers were on and she closed the door. Then Taylor walked in front of everybody, two men coming down the hall with a cart of things.
"Okay, so now we'll give you your overnight room key and number," Taylor said. Taylor started to call out the names of ecstatic passengers that got their key and toiletries and then walked off. She was filled with excitement as she awaited her name to be called, tuning out every other person just to hear her name be called. And then, they called her name and she smiled, walking up and taking her room key and toiletries, then she began to walk to her room.
As she walked, she read the pamphlet she was given. It talked about all the things you could do, the plans they had for Tranquility Base Landing, and how they began to build Tranquility Base Landing. It talked about it all, starting with how they had managed to make an artificial atmosphere with gravity around the entire moon. Then she got to reading about Tranquility Base Hotel. It said that the hotel was founded on Earth six years prior to when they opened Tranquility Base Landing, when they were building it, if you will, by Penny and David Turner when they were just twenty-three.
Then, it talked about how they only bore one son, who has since taken over the hotel since they mysteriously passed. The pamphlet included some information about him, and a picture. He was three years older than her. His full name was Alexander David Turner, Alex Turner for short. She kept on reading more and more about him. She found out that he inherited the hotel when he was fifteen, when his parents unfortunately died. She felt bad for the man, it said he had no other family that could make it to Tranquility Base Landing. She was about to turn to the page that had a picture of him, but she reached her room.
She took her key and walked into her room. It was a white room, decorated with furniture matching from the seventies. The style of the sixties and seventies had come back in the previous years and she loved it. She still had her carry-on bag on her shoulder so she placed it down on her bed that was up against the center back wall.
She began to explore her decently sized room. The bathroom was white, and decorated in the same sense. All of it looked very expensive and it made her feel luxurious and glamorous. She wasn't hungry so she laid down on her very comfy bed. Her head fell against the pillow and she shut her eyes. Then, someone came on the intercom to announce a few things. "Hello, passengers. Welcome aboard the Lunae Vessel 505," the voice was of a lady's but it was obvious that it was a prerecorded message, one that they'd used ever since they began the Lunae Civilization Transportation Vessels. "We will begin take off in exactly sixty seconds, the time it will take for this message to be completed. For precautionary reasons, we ask that you please quickly make it to your room and take a seat. Room service will come around once we are safely out of the atmosphere and pull of Earth's gravity. We hope you enjoy your flight on Lunae Vessel 505 to Tranquility Base Landing," she found the lady's voice calming, which is what they wanted people to be when they were about to take off, so no one could have any worries about anything failing or going bad. "Take off will happen in ten, nine, eight, seven—" She stayed seated on her bed as the prerecorded message counted down from ten, awaiting the launch, looking out the window in her room. Then, the recording said one, and they launched off. She felt the bed shake as they soared into the atmosphere.
She and all other passengers remained seated until the intercom dinged again. "We have now exited the atmosphere and Earth's gravitational pull, you may walk freely until told not to do so. Room service will come by shortly," the intercom went off.
She stood up from her bed and began to change into her pajamas that she had paced in her carry-on for the trip as she saw what time it was on the clock. She changed into her two piece silk pajamas and laid back down in bed.
Room service knocked on the door. Slowly, she walked over to the door and opened it. She was greeted by the room service men, who had smiles on their faces. "Hello!" One of them said, "Once again welcome to the Lunae Vessel 505, we'll be your servers for the night. For dinner we have chicken salad, steak, chicken with macaroni and cheese, or spaghetti with meatballs," the other said.
She took a minute to look over her options again before deciding. "I'll take the chicken with the macaroni," she said. The two room service men nodded and handed her the plate. "We'll be back around in two hours to collect the plate," they said before walking to the next room. She went back inside her room and sat down at the small table and began to eat.
She decided that she was bored and couldn't handle the silence while eating so she began to turn on the TV. She put on a show that her mother had shown her a very long time ago, when she was barely three. Star Trek. From the 60's. She loved this show. Though it wasn't accurate, she couldn't have expected it to be, and that's why she loved it so much.
The show played as she ate, and before she knew it, she had finished her plate as the first few episodes were done. She knew that room service wouldn't be back around to get the plate for another thirty minutes, so she laid on her bed and continued to watch Star Trek.
A few episodes had gone by and then room service knocked on her door. She got up and took her cup and plate to the door, handing them the plate and cup, telling them that the food was absolutely delicious. Then, she walked back into her room and laid back down.
She was tired and excited. She couldn't wait until they landed and docked at Tranquility Base Landing. As she thought about it, she remembered how her mother had told her about Tranquility Base Hotel and the love story of how her parents met there.
They were both young and had just come from Earth on one of the first transport vessels. Back then, when transport vessels were first built and began to be used, they undershot how many people would want to come so two people were assigned a room together, unless they were with family. Neither of her parents had brought family and they ended up sharing a room together. They hated one another for the entire ride, and were glad when they could get off and go to their hotel rooms. But, of course, their rooms were right beside one another. And they were always bumping into one another. So, as time and their stay went on, they began to fall for one another. And as soon as they returned to Earth, her father proposed.
She thought about that story often, always secretly hoping that she too could one day fall in love like her parents did. Her parents were so in love, until something broke them apart.
She couldn't bear the thoughts anymore and began to look at the pamphlet again, trying to forget all of it that wasn't part of the good memories. She looked at the information of the hotel and the owner. They were looking for a head of marketing as theirs had resigned. There's something to look forward to, She thought. Then, she went to the page that had the owner's photo. He was quite handsome. He had a coppery goatee, dark brown hair, and he wore orange-ish tinted sunglasses.

The intercom turned on and she was awakened by the recording of the lady's voice. "Good morning passengers of Lunae Vessel 505. We hope that you enjoyed your night on board. We will be docking in Tranquility Base landing in exactly thirty minutes. Please be ready to go in twenty-five minutes and follow the arrows on the floor that have been lit up to guide you to the exiting door. Your bags will be delivered to you at Terminal 1986 once you've reached the front desk. Once again, thank you for flying aboard the Lunae Vessel 505. Have a wonderful stay at Tranquility Base Landing!" The recording finally stopped and she rubbed her eyes to wake up.
Slowly she got out of bed and walked over to her overnight bag she carried her pajamas in, and her outfit from yesterday, and the one for today. She got the outfit out of her bag and went to the bathroom to not only change, but brush her hair and teeth as well.
She changed into a pair of bell bottoms, a green button-up, denim jacket with green paisley detail, mule heels. Then she brushed her hair and teeth before putting her hat on. She folded her pajamas and took her hairbrush and toothbrush and toothpaste and walked out, placing them all in her small overnight bag.
Quickly, she gathered all of her things and then walked out of her room, following the lit up arrows like the recording had said. People were walking out of their rooms and following the arrows. And just as soon as she made it to the exiting doors, the intercom turned on again. "All passengers please make your way to the exiting doors with all carry-on bags. Once you've arrived at the doors, please wait until your stewardess gives further instructions. We will be docking in exactly five minutes," the recording said.
She turned around and saw more people walking and standing around the doors, awaiting the stewardess. They all waited for Taylor and then she finally came, walking in front of them. She looked flustered as she walked, tired, and her hair and makeup wasn't as perfect as it was the day before. In all honesty, it looked like she had just been fucked, or had just done some other things.
Taylor walked in front of everybody and announced what all they would do. "Okay, everyone, we will dock in—" she checked her watch. "—two minutes now. When we do dock we may experience some turbulence. If and when we do, please remain calm and stand back against the wall. The tunnel that will connect to this door behind me will lead you out into the terminal and then you may get your bags, leave and head to Tranquility Base Hotel from there," she said.
Taylor looked at her watch and announced that they'd be docking in thirty seconds. Luckily, they didn't experience any turbulence and all was fine and smooth as they docked at Terminal 1986. The vessel fully stopped and Taylor made a quick announcement. "Okay, you all may now exit the vessel. Once again, thank you for flying on the Lunae Vessel 505, enjoy your stay in Tranquility Base Landing!" She said, then let everyone get off. Taylor then walked away.
She was ecstatic when she stepped into the tunnel, knowing that she could have a fresh start as soon as she exited it and the terminal that wasn't too far away. She pushed past all the slow walkers, who somehow made it to the front before her. And it wasn't long until she had made it to the terminal.
She saw men taking the passengers' bags and bringing them to the luggage area. She walked past that and walked to the main desk so that she could collect her luggage and possibly set up a flight back to Earth. The line wasn't as long as she had expected when she got there. She was maybe seventh in line. And the line was moving fairly fast considering how busy they were. And then it was her turn.
The lady at the desk greeted her. Her name tag read Katie Downes-Cook. She had blonde hair and her makeup was done to perfection. She was stunning. "Hello, how may I help you?" She asked with the most calm, adorable voice ever.
"Hi, I'm here to pick up my luggage," she said.
"Okay, and what's your name?" Katie said. She said her name and Katie typed it into her computer and soon a man came up to her and handed her luggage to her. She thanked the man. "Do you want to go on and get a ticket for a flight back to Earth, or wait?" Katie asked.
"I think I'll wait for now," she quickly decided. Katie nodded and told her that she was free to go. She thanked Katie and then walked away and out of the terminal. She looked at what was in front of her. The city had large and small buildings. A few apartment buildings for the people who lived and worked there, a few restaurants, and all the normal stuff you'd see in cities and tourist areas. But the main thing she saw was the hotel that everyone talked so highly of. The most famous part of the city.
It was there that she would stay until she found a reason to go home to Earth, or until she found a job and got her own home. Smiling, she walked to Tranquility Base Hotel; Casino To Come.
She walked past many different people as she walked to the hotel. Some were leaving, some were going to work, others just walking.
Then, she was finally at the doors of the hotel and then she walked inside. The hotel was large and extravagant. It had seven floors, counting the roof. It was one of the most amazing architecture designs she'd ever seen. And many thought so as well since it was known for its architecture style. There was an outdoor pool that she would most definitely have to try. And there was an outdoor eating area that allowed them to view Earth.
She looked around and saw the front desk and began to amble over to it. She was greeted with a fairly young woman, no older than thirty. Her name tag read Kelly Boss-O'Malley. "Hello, how may I be of service for you today?" Kelly asked.
"I have a room reservation," she said, telling Kelly her name as she knew that she would need her name. Kelly looked up at her and scanned over her face. She knew her. "Oh my god, I knew I recognized that name!" Kelly said ecstatically. It took her a minute to realize who it was.
"Oh my god, Kelly! It's actually you!" She said excitedly. The two of them had gone to school together and were close friends. But they grew apart and lost contact as Kelly had moved to Tranquility Base Landing. "How've you been?" Kelly asked.
She was about to answer but a man with a deep voice and longish brown curly hair called Kelly's name. "Kelly, I love you but we've got customers," he said. She nodded.
"Got it, dear! Okay, let me get your room number really quick and then we can catch up later. My lunch break is in three hours and I'll meet you at the restaurant and outdoor patio," Kelly said and she nodded. "Alright and your room number is 521 on the fifth floor," Kelly said as she handed her her key.
She took the key and was about to leave when the glass elevator opened. There was a dark brown haired man with a coppery goatee. He wore a dark blue shirt, simple pants, boots, and orange tinted sunglasses. Right there in front of her stood the owner of Tranquility Base Hotel: Alex Turner.
