So my place?😊🤨
loustat au where louis was born a girl but lives as a man "for business reasons" and lestat was born a girl but was raised as a man so his brothers wouldn't kill him and the courtship era isn't just about vampirism or gay sex, it's also lestat trying to subtly say that louis isn't the only trans man in louisiana and louis thinks its another french thing
✨estrogen could have made her worse✨
Hello I am here in the wake of episode 7 to say:
GENDERSTAT IS CANON, LESTAT DE LIONCOURT IS OUR GENDERFLUID QUEEN, THE GENDERSTAT BRIGADE NEVER FUCKING LOSES
I apologise for how insufferable I am about to be, except I'm not sorry at all.
Had someone reblog a post I recently made earlier saying they fundamentally disagreed with and were uncomfortable by my transfem Lestat headcanon because the trauma she’s experienced is specifically on account of her being Male (Gabi and Magnus). I have since deleted the post because RSD is a bitch and I blocked the person because they’d expressed they do the same but it has me feeling like the “they did very much kill Jesus” post and I need to get my thoughts down even though I’ll probably delete this post too.
Most trans men are foundationally impacted by systemic misogyny. Most trans women are foundationally impacted by the oppressive patriarchy (and note that I am NOT talking about “male privilege” and will nuke anyone I see talking about that). Of course this is not the reason someone becomes trans, obviously, but it is a fundamental part of recognizing identity and usually leads to a lot of repression or deflecting. As a trans man with many close trans female friends, I’ve seen this a lot firsthand.
Obviously, the show probably isn’t going in the direction of transfem Lestat (my now-deleted post earlier was of an interview where they were clarifying she was written as reflecting on toxic masculinity in that end-of-episode-7 quote, not a gender crisis, and they don’t want to claim they’re doing something they’re not), but I feel like it adds a lot of depth and realism to the headcanon. Everyone is free to have their own thoughts on the matter, and I would suggest blocking me if you don’t want to hear about transfem Lestat, but her experiences with masculinity (even queer masculinity) being projected on her is very remniscent of actual trans female experiences, and I really do hope to explore this in a future fic or two.
and if I said transfem lestat detested claudia bc claudia complained about being stuck in a girl's body when that's something lestat never got to have. what then
The T in LGBTQIA+ actually stands for The Vampire Lestat btw in case you didn’t know
