The hack we made for our fully trans wizard college game!

Hello! I wanted to talk about our hack for kids on brooms! This is part one of my write up to how we hacked our kids on broom game So essentially we found the upgrading dice to be a bit volatile and so we just changed the dice system to roughly similar numbers with d4 to approximate going up the stat chain.

This accomplished the students who were good at things to be naturally better at them represented in the average. This is similar effect to 2d6 being on average more damage and 1d12 being more likely to get 12. For flavor and balance it removed feel bads

the name cloaking in The Wizard, the Witch and the Wild One is so trans to me. like your coming of age being marked by choosing your own name that reflects your identity and who you want to be in the world. and if anyone tries to deadname you, it's just magically fixed, like you never have to worry about correcting people because your deadname is protected.

also Suvi becoming the wizard Sky is so beautiful, especially the way Aabria describes the particular sky she's naming herself after. as a nonbinary person, the sunset is the thing in this world that best expresses my gender, and there's just something so trans about the sky and the way it shifts and changes and is touched by colour.

This JK Rowling thing.

OK so here’s my thinking: I kind of understand that The JKR had kind of a hard shitty life, and found that being a woman held her back while she put in tremendous effort into filing the serial numbers off of any number of pre-existing ‘young chosen one becomes a wizard & finds there’s a secret hidden world of wizards & fights a bad guy’ titles.

And she eventually gets successful. Like ‘buy an island’ successful.

And she looks around and... there’s some dude who goes ‘I’m a woman now, rights plz’ and suddenly everyone is campaigning and going ‘Trans Rights Are Human Rights’ and The JKR has One Bad Day over it.

Down one trouser leg of time, she has a think about it and goes “Well crikey! It certainly sucked when it was happening to me [Pause to order a gold plated singing crocodile off of the secret Rich people’s amazon]. Perhaps I should support this and maybe less people will have to go through what I went through. 

You know what, I think I’ll get on twitter and announce uhhhhh that Wizards, having polymorph capability, and who often turn into animals, or change shape for fun, often switch gender until they find one that they’re comfortable with and that Snape was actually born a girl, and changed to a boy because he tried to date James Potter and got turned down and that’s why he hated him. Nice.”

And down the other leg, where 2020 was lurking like Cthulhu in a swimming pool?

... and scuttles off into an airduct or something. I’m hazy on that part.
