Here's my list of games I enjoyed in 2025:
Avowed
Cinnabunny
Wyrmhall
Wanderstop
South of Midnight
Loco Moto
Dinkum
Trash Goblin
Elden Ring Nightreign
Grimshire
Genuinely some really cool games this year!
Some short reviews of puzzle games I played while I was home sick with bronchitis:
Return of the Obra Dinn: *screams and shoves game in mouth* I can't wait to forget enough of this game to play it again. Unfortunately it's very memorable so that'll be like, 6 years.
The Roottrees are Dead: This one was fun, I liked the clue finding method.
Trash Goblin: This ones not really a puzzle game but it does have game mechanics I like a lot. I've finished the plot but will be returning to it for achievement hunting. It is a little janky though, in ways that I could see bothering people.
Tiny Bookshop: Still playing this one, I like the gameplay and strategizing, the art style is very cute! But there's been a few times I know a book would meet someone's requests but the game isn't set up to accept it as a good suggestion. 😞
Tagging Frankenstein 2025 in this because the candles were directly inspired by Kate Hawley's amazeballs costumes. I can't draw, so these are my fanart.
I'm realizing that, among my crafting friend group, I'm the trash goblin crafter. Everyone else was making a beautiful sweater out of yarn that they spun by hand, or working from a be-ribboned, tidy, pretty craft kit. I'm off making a skeleton tailcoat out of ribbon shreds and a jacket that I pulled out of an alley.
We started talking about what we've been working on. Similarly: new spinning wheel. Sweaters and socks. Learning embroidery. Crochet stuffy for her daughter. And then me: "...making spine candles out of cheap candle stubs that I melted in a cut-off beer can, from a mold that I frankenstein'd together out of 3d prints, bent nails, and bag balm."
My friends insist that this is exactly why they keep me around. I suppose I shall take it as a compliment.
Magazine Ads | Personal Project
Created with press kit assets provided by the developers and companies. Fonts other than the logos were sourced from various places (most of which I've long forgotten)
All of these will be featured in a project that is releasing at the end of the month. Something I've been working on the entire year and will be posted at https://ko-fi.com/drinpixeled
Doodle from work.
